Skoda Uk Website

Featured Replies

Just visited Skoda UK website. Greated by a pop-up inviting me to fill out a questionairre about their website - I guess they are making changes and want feed back. Question 12, I think, asks about other websites you visit.

Is there a chance here to get some replies in and quote our interest in Briskoda.net? Might be a good way to bring the popularity of the site to the attention of Skoda UK.

Just an idea.

I'm on it now!

edit: 'tis done now! - I thought I'd edit this post, instead of posting a new one - Don't wanna push that daily rate too far, do I? :D

Sounds like a good idea :)

In case there's anyone who doesn't know the address, it's www.skoda.co.uk :D

:D Go Briskodians, although not an easy survey to answer if you know what I mean for offering views on the site...

Done :)

I have never managed to get any sense out of that site whatsoever. It insists on resizing the window too small for the content, and not allowing you to stretch it back again. The content itself is little better than a few pictures. Am I looking in the wrong place or is there some secret button I have to press?

Done :)

Did you stand on one leg and have your left index finger in your right ear? No? Well, there you go then :p

No, you're absolutely right, the Skoda site is the typical Design over Function website of a high-paid "I'm so artistic" webdesigner...

No, it's the website equivalent of a four-colour glossy - all style and no content. :(

What a crap survey, with no space to suggest how that site could really be improved! It looked to me like an attempt to extract personal details from visitors, and to sell them on to third parties - unless you check the box at the foot of the survey like I did. I even had to insert a fullstop in the third line of my address because the survey insisted that all boxes be completed. Lets hope the person who designed that survey isn't going to be the one redesigning Skoda UK's site...grumpy.gif

PS For those using ad-blocking, you will need to disable it for the pop-up survey to appear.

PPS I'm exhausted after completing that survey. Time to go back to moderating TaviaRS' posts...

Hmmm...

Here we are, putting Briskoda.net as another website we visit.

So when the Skoda UK website designer comes along to see what this site is all about, (s)he will find this thread slagging it off (edit: I mean slagging off skoda.co.uk, not Briskoda.net ).

I guess we won't be seeing any of the prizes ;)

Done it as well.

The money we paid for our cars and bits since is paying for those prizes! :D

Good point but then that site is very hard to use for a non web savy person!

I've put 4 people of varying levels infront of it, only one guessed the navigation first time and all (all lol 4) really really did not get on with the scrolling "this will be cool" feature.

It's good to get feedback, btw any of you dislike this site, YOU DO HAVE TO TELL ME!

Yep,

I've always thought that the website was pretty but effectively useless. I've filled in the survey, but who wrote this? Having to fill in all the address lines is pretty stupid, so I filled 'em all with question marks.

What's the betting I get lots of junk mail with two lines of ??????????? in the address?

Reminds me of when I used to look after the systems for a mailshot company. I overheard someone on the phone saying, "right, so we'll swap 200 solicitors in London for 250 GP's in Hertfordshire" -yep, your address is now a commodity, to be bought and sold.

Phil,

Strangely world-weary today....

Colin - Briskoda is a wonderful site, but I believe my PCs at work make it work a bit weird for me. When I first log in, I have type the www before the briskoda.net else it doesn't think its me. The same applies if I link to the members section. First it says I'm not allowed to view this section, then I type in the www and it lets me in - quite strange but I'm living with it now, and its not a hassle that you need to anything about at all (please)

Obviously the same www phenomenon happens when going into control panel & PM section, but c'est la vie. Life's too short to worry about small things like this, so I'm not :D

Jason: sounds like you're a Netscape user...

Hey, have just visited the Skoda UK site for the first time, and must say that it's infinitely better than the Dutch one! Okay, it's a bit fancy but in contrast the Dutch site is visibly a low-budget attempt, with lots of factual errors too. However, can't vouch for the UK site's accuracy...

So that's why you can talk about THE 4X4! Is there really only a 4x4 in 1.8T Estate guise in the UK? We have EIGHT different versions in NL!

Have done the questionnaire until the "we want to know who you are" second page. To my understanding, you can also remain anonymous, but then you won't receive their prize if you win. Tough luck, that.

Yup, if you want a 4x4 it has to be...

1.8T,

in 150bhp guise,

with elegance trim level,

and as an estate.

There has been a hatch for a while, but they dropped it again.

We don't get the 6spd, or the TDI, or the "nature" etc that the rest of europe seems to get.

I fancy a PD150 4x4 Octy estate, ah well, maybe next time.

(just a torque junkie at heart lol)

QUOTE - Jason: sounds like you're a Netscape user...

Yep :(

It's really annoying because there are always plenty of links to amusing online games, like that deathtest one, and the shoot the Gatso, but they never work! Grr. I use explorer at home, so perhaps I'll revisit there :D

The Nature? Now it's my turn to feel left out... We're not part of the "rest of Europe"! :(

(Or should that be :) )

Just to rub it in - we have these:

Estate 2.0 Comfort

Estate 2.0 Elegance

Estate 1.9TDI PD 110 6-speed Comfort

Estate 1.9TDI PD 110 6-speed Elegance

Hatchback 1.8T Elegance

Estate 1.8T Elegance

Hatchback 1.8T L&K

Estate 1.8T L&K

The PD 130 still only in L&K FWD...

Well, well - I wondered why you guys all had estates. Just assumed you were all Mr. Shifter kinda people ....

No 1.6 though...what are Skoda playing at? :D

Rob.

Filled in yesterday - noticed on of the questions asked for one or more answers but you could only tick one box - great one -

John

Put me on the list for that one (I wish).
