What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

Details please!

Does it require any additional holes to be drilled?

no extra holes drilled just used one of the existing holes in the slam panel and made an adaptor for the bonnet end out of a few bits I had knocking about in the garage one of which was a turbo oil feed banjo bolt! i'll take a closer pic of each end but the key thing is the mkv bonnet strut works perfectly

They do it different in Panama, alight to heat up paint rather than a gun

Went to IKEA and bought two 1000 wide, 500mm deep cupboards and two 500 x 500mm wide ones all 2310mm tall. The 2310mm boxes are about 2350mm long by 550mm. I fitted all five into the Yeti! (The six doors fitted into the V5 but by having them rest ON the dashboard with the seats all down). I know for you Octavia boys this is no feat as you can do this with the back seats up (:giggle: ) but us Snow Monster owners have a bit less length to play with.

Hi Johann,

I am intrigued, does the front seat come off easily? I am not planning to transport anything in the near future, but it would be good to know.

Thanks

The front seat is still there! I just wound the seat back all the way down and took the headrest off and the left rear seat I took out. It does not go down far enough alas. In my A2 it went down ALL the way to form a perfectly flat floor with the second boot floor. In the Yeti it does create a hump. But I stacked some shelves on the front seat base and the boxes were resting on that instead of the hump.

Ah, all is clear. Thanks

Swore, cried, swore some more.

At the weekend I noticed the steering was wandering slightly, and a bit of a judder under braking, so I lifted the wheels and checked for play, and there was a bit of movement one of the bottom ball joint.

So I figured that I might as well go the whole hog and do all the bushes, lower arms, drop links etc. and collected the bits together.

Got it up on a mates ramp this a.m., wheels off, start to crack the O/S ball joint, and realise that the nut is loose.

HOW DOES A NUT LIKE THAT LOOSEN???? 90% of the time they are rusted on solid.

Anyway, the hole in the hub is now slightly oval from the joint pin chattering in it. Getting the old one out destroyed it (it wasw shot anway) and fitted the new one more in hope than expectation. No surprise that this one has started chattering after only 20 or so miles.

Checked with the stealers and a new hub, plus a wheel bearing kit, is around £250, so I'm now desperately looking for a 2nd hand hub.

2 weeks ago I loved this car, now I'm starting to hate the bl**dy money pit.

fitted my colour coded door handles

Realised it would be a long time before I had a Skoda again, sold my beloved Octy and got a Scenic. Needed the interior space for the 3 kids seats. I had considered getting a roof rack for the Octy and strapping a kid to that to solve my problem but SWMBO was not happy with that. I would have used an approved child seat so I don't see what the problem was but to keep her happy I sold the Skoda last night. It's been a day of mourning.....

Oh no not a Scenic..Hope you have good breakdown cover..

The other day I bolted the boot trim back on in the Felly..M6 coachbolts..who needs trim clips eh?

In the last few days, picked up a carpet in the Fabia, tipped a old carpet, took some wood over to the inlaws to use on their fire, only to be told did not require the wood, so back to the tip with it!

Gave the mats a proper wash for the first time - now they look great!

Also had to re-seal a door carrier with all this rain we are getting, should have a nice fresh smelling interior now, rather than cat wee :giggle:

Had a engine management light come on in the Octavia :S

Booked in for Monday morning, fingers crossed........... :wonder:

Gave it its first wash and wax. Just a shame mother nature decieded to rain before I'd realy finished waxing :(

Your lucky it is raining heavy snow here!

Installed my old Nokia Bluetooth kit into the FL Octy Elgance Combi. Now thinking about getting a pucker bluetooth kit to match the Bolero.

fitted new front discs and pads

brushed the snow off it

and walked into town

Went shopping in the Fabia... picked up a new hoover, hifi and some curtains and curtain poles.

Thats about it.... Mind you seen the best part of 200 miles stuck on it this week!

Davy

Washed it with a bucket and sponge for the first time in about 3 months !

I forgot it was black

Drove mine for the first time since the beginning of December. Forgot how poor the traction was in the cold/wet weather :D

Big plans for mine this year! :)

I thought you had sold yours :wonder:

Imagined what it would look like with the splitter I didn't fit today :wonder:
