What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

Got wishbone bush replaced and a new pollen filter. Excellent service from DSB Autocare, he was fully booked but fitted me in at 7pm. I really can't complain at all, I asked if replacing the wishbones would be cheaper and easier than just changing the bushes and he advised that it would be for him, but not me! Unless you supply the parts he will only use genuine parts. £60 parts, labour and VAT is all he charged. I was there for about 1 hour while he tracked it up which I can only assume he didn't charge for as the bill said less than 1 hour labour. I have only used the place a couple of times due to the distance from my home but each time I have, i've been very impressed. I now try to coincide visits to that area with work needed on my car.

Managed to fit a 1200x1200 board across the back seats - just - by bending the corners a bit.

When my web host fixes whatever's stopping me uploading at the moment!

Reversed, beached it on a bank, then burnt the clutch creating a rather impressive amount of smoke and burnt rubber smell :( (presume one wheel was in the air and the other had no traction)

Which bank? one that the Government bailed out?

Drove it to work, with a BIG grin on my face

Its been in the garage for service and new flywheel/clutch for 3 days, and I was stuck with a 1.4 Astra :'(

Drove 1400km to Auckland and back - great drive, lots of overtaking and enthusiastic twisty mountain road driving and mostly staying within the 100km/h speed limit.

Managed an impressive 41mpg average despite some heavy-footedness and having two people and a full load on the way back.

Read through all the posts relating to fixing poor radio reception, went and sat in the boot, bottled it and went to phone the dealer.

10 mins later found bottle and just got on with the job.

Radio fixed but I might not refit the headline clips for a few days.

Found secret supply of cold beer. :D

Took the car door apart to look for my rattle and nothing was loose apart from the big chunk of polystyrene in the door card:

I glued and taped it in place. And while I was in there I installed a couple of layers of sound deadening and made the speakers fit properly by, er, modifying a bit of metal that was in the way.

Also did the rear door cards:

And started the boot where my 10" sub will be living:

Having just the drivers door done has really improved the sound and the bass from the front speakers.

More on the way to add more weight to the car!! :D

Cleaned bird **** off it :(

I went to westallc's breakers today and picked up some bonnet lifters and a car full of plastics/buttons/fuses/relays/clocks/front slam panel with rads etc etc etc

So today I have fitted the bonnet lifters, carbon B pillar covers, carbon rear boot lip cover, fitted the grommet for the boost gauge pipe in the engine bay and fitted my trusty Alpine CDA-7876 :)

Oh, and I finally did my splitter in :dull: so I need to get a new one :giggle:
