  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

  • modified the cup holder     It's now a hobnob holder

Gave it a quick (much needed) wash and fitted my replacement electric mirror grill - old one had a crack in it since I got the car and its been bugging me ever since!

Filled it up ready for the 3 hour journey to Suffolk, really hope the M25 is nice to me later tonight

Fitted wheels on after a re paint and gave it a clean :)

Wants some wheels on before it can be used as a rally car !

Packed the Octy up for our summer holiday to the south of France via Surrey. Drove through the world's largest car park, also known as the M25! 45 mile tailback FTW!

Washed both, and fuelled both.

Today I unleashed what was left of the original 75 horses that lived under the bonnet of the Fun Truck! :) :)

Finally got around to getting the new suspension on with 30mm drop

Should drop slightly aswell :)

Many thanks to Horsee who did most of the work, top man  2hrs max on the drive.

Gave the car a quick spruce up with a splash of water, Autoglym Rapid Detailer and then EGP on top of that.

Just started to rain as I buffed off the EGP and I am currently watching the water droplets chase each other across the bonnet :)

Fitted new head unit so I can finally listen to the music on my phone using Bluetooth :-)

Didn't do anything today.

Today at work I have had the brake disc dust shields "bent" away from the discs to try and prevent the awful noise bestowed upon me on my way to work today. Also, had it washed, it rained. :rain:

I sold my Yeti today and replaced it with Freelander 1

Fixed the jets on my rear wiper

DMilleaVRS

At last got it shining like it should. Crappy phone camera doesn't do it justice though.

loaded it up and drove it 416 miles from Scotland to St Helens in 6 hours 30 minutes in some of the heaviest persistent rain I have ever seen, fuel economy was dreadful at 35.8 mpg but we were knocking on a bit

Hmm. I'm glad it's not just me then. Drove back from Northern Ireland (Cushendun, Co. Antrim) today. Only 250 miles or so but the roofbox, motorway speeds and persistent rain and strong winds put my mpg at an all time low of 35.9 (measured brim to brim after filling up after we got back).

On the plus side that rain did manage to remove most of the sand from the car after playing on Downhill Strand yesterday morning. The Yeti is great fun but it can't handbrake turn as well as my MkI Escort could

I find the Yeti is good on the handbrake, however, you need a fair lick of speed and sharp stab on the handbrake to get the back out, then hit the throttle to keep the slide going    I also found the TC has to be off and even better if the fuse is pulled so it is OFF.

Dropped the front a bit more as it was sitting tail down a touch now the APs have settled a bit. Tried to wrap my grill 3 times and gave up so shoved on my temporary Halfords-plastidip-a-like one. The black paint will probably have fallen off by the morning but it looked moody as sat in the street in the dark with the black grill!

Job for tomorrow before I head up to Scotland with work is to laminx my fogs and have another look at the suspension...

Did a service on my mate's ramp yesterday and also fitted new exhaust mounts.
