What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

Fancied doing something on the car and about the only thing left I'd been wanting to do was clean the EGR valve so that's what happened. Surprised how clean it was after 114,000miles, only had say 1to 2mm build up on the inside. Unless the previous owner (leased) had it changed at some point over the 107,000 he had it, then that's all it built up in that time. Had expected a lot worse after seeing some of the horror pics of crap build up inside some EGR valves.

Then I washed the car for the 2nd time in just over a week.  . Think I'm going to have to make a doctors appointment I must be catching something.  :bandit:

Washed and hoovered the mk1

Replaced o/s headlamp shortly after doing the n/s.Why do they go in two,s?

It was a Skoda bulb as well and only 9 months old. Of course they wouldn't do a warranty in it either :(

Gave it a wash and recoated the wheels. Then cleaned and dressed the engine bay. I'm happy now.

Replaced the Skoda badge in the grille. The original got damaged months ago by a stone, bit of shrapnel, bullet or something lol; anyway changed it and the front looks smarter again

Wow what a weekend! I drove up to Auckland for the weekend to see some friends and go to Speedshow.

660km each way - just over 8 hours drive on NZ roads.

I only made one quick stop for photos on the way up, snow covered Mt Ruapehu in the background.

I took the less well-travelled route and over the awesome State Highway 4 - which winds over a couple of mountain ranges.

I had a brilliant time. I love my car!!

Lots of corners and short blasts in between so the 100kph speed limit was pretty safe.

I don't think I really got near the car's handling limits at any point, which is fine by me :D

The handling is pretty neutral, steering nicely weighted. I love the R32 wheel and rack.

Power is noticeably up with the CR hybrid, standard injectors, MAF and Shark Stage 2 map. Definitely more torque, several times I had to check what gear I was in as the way it picked up in 5th I thought it was in 3rd.

Torque steer is up too, pulling out to overtake I didn't need to steer to get around things :D

On the way back I caught up with the guys from Auto Clique NZ.

John had his silver R8 wrapped as part of a show display. It looks pretty damn good!

Chasing the R8 through the climb up to NZ's Desert Road was an awesome experience.

Never a half job done with me fella, the old clutch on the Ibiza came out in almost a similar amount of pieces..

Haha. Must have been giving the car a good workout to manage that!

Got the aricon services and recharged for a very cool £35.00 :sun:

Left it at the garage with a big box in the boot with AP written on it

Then I can turn my attention to wheels (refurb or something new...) and getting the interior plastics wrapped... Might even do a build thread!

This was yesterday, but never mind....

I finished polishing the Octavia and took it to have new front console bushes fitted.

Bought a in car camera for it, now to wait and work out how I am going to fit it

Brimmed the tank for the first time in weeks after running it on £10-£20 fills recently  :giggle:

Had a few goodies arrived thanks to Rob at W8 Performance. Great service and an amazing price ;)

70.8 mpg on the commute home

Removed the RCD310DAB and installed the RNS315(DAB/BT/NAV).

I've just sorted a long standing boost leak ready for sunday. Managed to launch a can of red bull everywhere though so going to need to hardcore cleaning in the morning.

I've just chopped a tree down, you're more than welcome to get some, not sure how much fuel it'd cost from NZ to Buckinghamshire lol.

Had these fitted today
