What did you do to your Skoda today?

Booked into skoda for headlamp condensation issue (should be covered under warranty?).

In celebration of your purchase, you could join Freedom, then amend your slightly confusing username..... :)

Anyway......

As it's an 09 it won't be under the original manufacturer warranty, unless you mean whether it's covered under any warranty that was given from where you bought it?

To be honest I wouldn't bother taking it in - I'd just remove the headlamp units and bring them into the house overnight. Open up the rear covers and allow them to warm up and get rid of any moisture. Then refit the back covers and make sure they're on properly.

Some condensation is within spec though, as the units aren't totally vacuum sealed.

haha I'm starting to enjoy the little digs at me now and then :)! Have been contemplating the freedom, now that I've got another vRS.

Yeh I was referring to the warranty given with the car mate. How difficult is that to do then? Is it literally just trapped moisture under the headlamp or something more technical than that? I'm going to my local independent VAG specialist on wednesday anyway, so maybe I should just ask them to look at it for me.

Got 2 kumho ku39s fitted. Feels good to have front end.grip again. Also fitted some osram nightbreaker extremes. Can actually see my beam pattern on the road now. Never realised just how bad my previous ones were getting

Slowly turning my silver Octavia into a black one. Nearly 6 months since tesco cleaned it. If my 21 year old self could see me now, he would be very disappointed

:o   :x

Holy cow! Get yourself into the Car Care section and guilt yourself into getting that sorted!

Oh, and do it yourself - rather than some random with a dirty sponge in Tesco's carpark

It's having the time to do it these days, either doing house work, sleeping or looking after the children so the car suffers, well the outside does. I've got some time off soon so maybe I can dedicate half a day to making a good job of it

I debated thrashing mine with a big hammer after fitting a milltek 3inch downpipe and 2.5inch stainless cat back system few hundred mile later 3rd 4th n 5th gear im getting clutch slip at 3 - 3.5k rpm dunno if this is common with the extra ponies its gained ? P.s its had rtecb stage 1 map for last 2 year and been fine

I'd get the map adjusted, to take into account the downpipe especially.

But with an older clutch it might be nearing end of life, then with more power, beyond Stage 1 an uprated clutch tends to become more of a necessity.

But drove fine for few hundred mile definitely had more power so wondering if the extra power as just finished it off as its done 137k and loads of history with it but no receipts to suggest clutch or flywheel as been replaced in past

Sure, your map's at Stage 1, but with the addition of the downpipe you've changed the spec from which the car was mapped with. As you've noticed the car will have access to more performance, with the better downpipe. Plus you'll need the map adjusting to properly take advantage of the better downpipe anyway.

So get the map adjusted and a new clutch fitted, preferably uprated. And if it's on the original clutch it's done pretty well anyway :)

Scraped the ice off the windows and put my sticker in the back window, it was too dark to take a photo of it when I did it so I took one after work this afternoon instead:
