What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

Left lights on in car overnight like an utter div so woke up this morning to a dead as doornail flat battery. Skoda recovery rang - arrive in 40 mins - back in action 5 minutes later.

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Got some awesome leather seats off gfwc, look so good! Haven't had a chance to get a photo yet though.

Stared at it out of the window  :dull:

Although I do have a Brisky sticker to fit

Got it serviced on Friday. Nothing major picked up, all niggly little things. Sidelight bulb, wiper blade, nail in rear tyre (unrepairable ofc...) ARB links have slight play apparently.

Also dealer washed it. Forgot it was shiny under all that dirt  :giggle:

Put a new Bosch Silver Plus battery in it.

Cleaned him up :)

Shiny again!

the RS bumper does give it more presence IMO.

Without a shadow  :)

Removed the window tints for my dad (new owner), he's not overly struck on them. Kudos to the company that fitted them, they were definitely well stuck! Nothing a heat gun and swiss army knife couldn't solve though :)

Took it in for its 20k service on Friday and the dealer relieved me of just short of £400 for it and two new tyres.

Finally managed to get the Möbius dash cam installed.

Hard wired to fuse box via the roof lining and A pillar cover.

That bit took about 10 mins.

Finding the right fuse for the rear wiper, for switched power, was a little more awkward.

Damn you Skoda for your fuse box schematics!!

Must say I'm impressed with the picture quality.

Fitted a new heated Mirror Glass to mine, that's both sides done now, just waiting for some frost now!

Looking good Brimma! I couldn't find a post in the Fabia II forum.

What did you do in regard to the loss of the front fog light function?

Have you changed the headlight switch to one without the 'two pulls' (front fog light setting)?

I always wondered if you could keep the fog light fucntion and just have the new DRL LED's come on. I'm not sure how effective they would be in the fog but it would at least mean you could keep the original switch and the functionality.

At the moment the fog connector is taped up, but I'll probably either take the fuse out or see if they can be disabled with VCDS. I don't think I'll miss them, as I think I've only ever used them once or twice, if that

The project thread is here:- http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/276524-brimmas-mk2-tdi-vrs-estate-updated-211213-with-pics/

Cheers for the link Brimma, I have another question but I'll ask it in the other thread (I always wondered if it was possible to replace the round fogs on my Octy Scout with the round LED DRL's as they are physically a straight swap).

Great mod by the way!

Rubbed a small amount of ice off the windscreen with my finger.

If there's more on tomorrow I'll rub it all off with an ice scraper, then drive it.

Cleaned the EGR and Fitted Powerflex Dogbone mount bushes.

Went to play with the petrol boys :p

Used the heated screen for the first time.

Best invention ever. :)

Will be filling him up with rubbish then off to the tip to empty him out. Then off shopping to fill him back up again lol

Fitted the window regulator repair kit the wrong way round... it says L and R on the bits, but they turned out to be opposite!!!!!!!

Drilled out the rivets a second time, to find out I didnt have enough left to redo it, but skoda is closed until tomorrow morning... Arse.

Onward and upwards...

Fitted a TRS tow strap and also did the elephant mod. Also filled up with some of Shell's finest.

Removed glovebox to reconnect vent hose so now I can keep my owners manual refreshed!
