What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

Swapped it for a Roomster Greenline - though hopefully the dealer will let me swap it back tonight when they've sorted out the heated seat on the Yeti!

Dropping from 170 BHP to just 75 was noticeable, but the little 1.2 TDi engine seemed surprisingly capable, if somewhat noisier than I'm used to. Comfy seats though

My brakes arrived today.

Took it to a garage to get the squealing fixed.

It is fixed. My wallet is lighter.

2 x Eagle F1 tyres fitted

4 wheel last allotment done

Skoda refunded me for...

- cracked headlight

- 2 brake pads and discs

- front and back wiper

Also fitted a new gearknob decal as old one was flaked a bit.

Just need to vac the interior and sort the flaking on 1 alloy

Pressed the heated seat button and it worked

All three aero wipers were on their last legs so fitted replacement aero on the rear and 24" / 18" aero's on the front.

Cheers

Dave.

Gave the Fabia a good snowfoaming and the wash with some Car Chem shampoo. And tried out the Poorboys Nattys Paste wax on the bonnet.

Secured left rear damper dust sleeve with a cable tie.

I finished off fitting my autolights module on my fabia, needs adjusting though as its just on all the time at minute.

Took her for a day out to IKEA, came back fully loaded. Who needs a Transit, who needs a Land Rover, when Skoda's got the lot.

Copy cat  ;)

Did you put yours in before or after 06:15 am?

If after then I'm going to have to call you the copy cat. Just couldn't get a picture that shows anything but black.

Rather back than front anyhow, because that's where all the other cars are.

And it doesn't get in the way of any vision as that's also right where the headrest blocks the mirror.

Booted my Monte at the traffic lights and caught a scruffy looking scrote in a scooby off guard. The look on his face was a picture as he passed me at about 60 in a 40 zone. Lol!

Finished sealing my newly refurbished alloys with Carbon Collective Platinum Ceramic Wheel Sealer

Catchy title! Not heard of that one.....

Acquired a new set of vw 17" boavista alloys today, a bit rare and hard to find also a set of kumho on order. The bottom picture is of one of my actual rims.

mine's in for a full service next week, I've asked for a Roomster as a courtesy car. Have to wait and see.

Took the pipe off the intercooler (again) to see if oil runs out (again). Yep!

Declared my octy sorn, the joys of being self employed and no work :(

Had to brake quite firmly from 20mph in town in my Octy, not enough to trigger ABS, all under manual control but the brakes seemed to lose bite towards the end and stopped the car maybe a foot or so further than I had anticipated... no drama.

Upon returning home I gave the brakes a once over and other than a thin film of dust on the discs didn't find anything wrong, apart from what looked like a stone wedged between the right rear caliper and disc.

It came away in my fingers easily enough and it turned out to be pad friction material!

My estimate is that from what I can see half of the outer pad is missing.

The brakes are probably not much more than 1-2000 mile old (previous owner replaced the lot) and it was that particular unit which had been rebuilt without a piston dust seal causing the brake to bind.

I replaced the missing seal and at that time everything looked fine, I must assume that the binding pad(s) were weakened due to overheating and have eventually crumbled with use.

So a word of caution, don't let little incidents go unchecked.

You never know what the problem could be.

fitted a false floor thing!

Nothing, she's not moved for over two weeks now thanks to appendicitis!

I will move her if you like!

I will move her if you like!

Cheers! Bit of a trek for you and she needs a good clean though, already had two weeks of grime on her before 'man down' and that had been the first time she missed a weekly wash n wax since new, desperate to get back out and give her some tlc.

Im sure you are. my VRs isnt even new, though it is new to me, and im still driving her next door! :giggle:
