  • Picked up the new VRS: 2013 Fabia VRS by Graeme_Smith, on Flickr

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Looking very nice Rob

Finally fitted a splitter and the pressed plates I bought this week. Sealed and waxed them before I put them on the car, too much?

after spending just under £800 on "consumables"(what is it with Skoda road springs, had 3 go now) over the last few weeks I didn't plan to spend any more but the central locking has decided to throw a wobbly and only works when it wants to so that will be next, if the grand prix is crap I might just take my car down to the car wash today.

Detailed the Ed 100

Washed

Clayed - Bilt Hamber

Polished - Scholl S3

Snowfoamed - AB Magifoam

IPA wipe down

Applied gtechniq C2V3 ( big thanks to Svend    )

Fitted new style front and rear badges.

Removed the (bodged) bluetooth unit.

Managed to troubleshoot cigarette lighter on Fabia - bad fuse. Then accidentally blew another one with a stray disconnected cable and a spark. Need more fuses.

Gave her a bath...

You missed a bit :)

I missed the entire car for about 12 months :giggle: I refuse to let anyone else touch her and only just got myself set up in my new gaff :p

Much needed clean, even though it was raining

A man in a vroomster turned up and did a bit of coding.

Thanks Jonnyfive

Just washed the vRS in the rain, debated doing my wife's new fabia tsi dsg but decided I was wet enough and hers was only picked up and brand new on Saturday so came inside to play on the Xbox one :)

First modification to the Octavia. Fitted a chinese auto light switch i had fitted in my van.

I plan on fitting a Parrot kit soon so just tucked the sensor out the way at the top of the A pillar until i run it in properly.

Drove the mongrel back from Dublin after bringing the daughters and misses to see 1.Direction Croke park. 107.000 screaming girls at the gig,not for me so i took myself to the cinema to see the new Godzilla film ..............OOOOhhhhh FEK ME what a load of dung it was, never seen so many people leaving the cinema early but i had paid 10.50 euros plus 2 euros for 3D glasses and 6 euros for sweeties so i was staying to the end of this CRAP...If i had have known it was so bad there would have been 107.001 at 1.Direction.   :dull:

Nice job, easy, cheap fix?

Yes mate. Think it was £25 off ebay. Takes 30 seconds to swap switches. Then depending where you want the sensor just the time to hide it. This install took 2 mins at most.

Bought some fuses to replace the ones I blew, plus spares. Now have heated seats working again after I harvested their fuse (not that I've needed them, even here!).

Also bought a new wheel bearing (getting fitted on Thu) and some clamps for my replacement evap purge valve hopefully arriving in the next day or two. Normal driving conditions draw ever closer!

Does the cat match the car, or the car match the cat?

Went to the garage to look for something. Found myself stroking the paint on the car. It feels so nice and glossy when freshly polished!

My Precious...

My wife says I'm a "Weirdo". And the fact that I have friends who would do the same does not make it normal or okay.

put some DERV type fuel in it, took a back seat out, put a bay tree in the back and took it round to some friends as a gift. Went to some places. Checked the fluids.

Decided to not wash it again.

Put aquapel on, awesome beading. That's about it apart from taking two massive bags of lawn cuttings to the tip.

Took all four wheels off and greased them up to prevent any future corrosion/sticking to the hubs. Checked the brake fluid nipple that had been leaking... hopefully it is sorted, if not, I will be sending it into a garage as I can't find the problem if it continues!
And then washed - polished and waxed the car... took me a good three hours in total. Very satisfying work though
