  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Walked past it. Thought it looked lopsided so walked around it to find the f/n/s was flat....

Wheel refused to come off so inserted wheel nuts loosely and rolled car back and forth. Wheel still firmly attached to rest of car. Placed spare section of wooden sleeper under the car, wrapped a very heavy hammer in one of Samuel's old baby blankets et voila!

Screw embedded in it. Not too near the edge so hopefully a repair job. Bit miffed as that is the second screw related flat this year. Obviously nothing to do with the neighbour's building works..... [emoji35]

Then checked the oil and topped up the screen wash.

Drove it for the first time in ten days after having a Toyota 86GT on test. For a few minutes the Octy felt like a smooth ride on KW coilovers.

Got a new clutch fitted :-/

Drove it to the local motoring spare suppliers to buy filters and oil for the service tomorrow.

Just parked it and about to have a nap in it whilst I kill some time before donating blood, in an hour and a half time!

Drove Sheffield to London for work. Busy day running round London looking after sick people for this skoda.

In other news I found a small diesel leak after a service. Speaking to the mechanic he said probably my fuel filter they'll check it out when I'm back

Bought it some new shoes. And some other pressies.

The wire brush, sand paper and enamel sprays are for the old steel wheels, I'm going to strip and paint them when I get the new ones on. The brush and wheel cleaner is for the new wheels.

The old ones were getting quite rusty so I was going to take them off and paint them anyway but I couldn't because I can't have the car on bricks for any period of time while the paint dries. I'll get tires on these wheels, get them on and then prep and spray the old ones and store them for use as winter wheels or just for putting back on come selling time.

Trip down to Brimmas to collect was 120 miles each way, then to Halfords and back home ect tool it up to 282 miles using £37 of Momentum, £57 spent at Halfords and then I'll go to MSB on Monday to get some wheel bolts that aren't rusty. Then all I need to do is wait until next month so I can afford the tyres to go on them. Brimma was great when I got down there as well, top bloke  Wheels are immaculate as described. Very happy, absolute bargain at £300 can't wait to get them on the car!

Plugged my new VCDS lead into it - and found a fault code...

...nothing to worry about though, as it had sussed that I've pulled the fuse to the headlamp washers! I should now be able to recode the frequency at which it sends 1L of fluid over the lights, and get the fuse back in :)

Moved it so I could go out on the bike!

Regards Chris

Declared it worn and reduced the insurance cover as it won't be need for the next two or three months :(

Yeah, definitely declared it sorn.

Stupid autocorrect!

The wife drove it to Disney and back, no issues but trying to sort the lights before we went could have been better. I smashed my iPad carrying it to the car for instructions and smashed the screen. Decided to buy stickers rather than risk breaking something else. So ankle and iPad broken :(

Paid for it ! Settled the hp pending the new car arriving

Serviced it at the Ford garage.

A joint effort from myself and a mechanic friend. The cost? "The next time we go clay pigeon shooting, you can pay for me". Deal.

Oh and whilst it was up on ramps: had a poke and search for any boost leaks, I keep thinking it's 'gasping' and that I can hear more of a whistling/air rushing noise than I could before, although I think it may be in my mind.

Wash and wax today....looks nice day for it!

Put one of my new wheels on to see how it looks and to make sure it definitely fits before I buy tyres (not that I had any doubt, just making sure):

Looked at the break pads and disks:

And made my wheel brace alloy friendly:

Love the wheel, love the fact the breaks are about dead and the tape was a good, easy fix for the brace. Now I'll just have to pop down to the dealers and get some shiny wheel nuts and lock nuts and all I'll need is tyres.

Finally got my air-con repaired and working by replacing the high pressure sensor, despite some scrapes and scratches. Cleared the fault code and found another

More to fix now.
