What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

Thoight about the list of things i still dont have tome to do to it, inc washing and cleaning out the inside... time seems better spent sorting out the little mans bottles/soothers/clothes/walking him/feeding him...

I know that feeling at the moment! My son is coming up to 3 months old. Had very little time to clean my car or my girlfriends, which hasn't been washed since October!

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Stripped the brakes down and removed this stuff from the holes and groves:

144 holes re-drilled and 12 slots hammered out with a screwdriver.

Then I took it for a drive out  round the back roads and through Leyburn then back through Richmond way to try them out. Got a lot of brake fade then while stopped at a junction I could smell them from in the car. Stopped off at Tesco got some food came back to the car and they behaved like new brakes should after that. It's like you've crashed into a brick wall now :) Now lets hope that is the end of the fade.

Over the weekend, I installed the Polar FIS Advanced properly and a 3C8035730E bluetooth thingy.

I can hear people being silly whilst driving now :S

This happened ... 25340826c3b0442bd276a1bdbb3e5032.jpg:o  :o

I didn't realise it held that much!?

So, on the way home, this happened:

:sun:

Super anticipation combined with very gradual acceleration and maximum use of coasting, braking is negative economy.

Mk1 vRS has a 10 Gallon tank (just over 45L), so you've got a gallon left to fill :)

Think my record was 48L filling up from zero mile range, then venting the tank

That's also pretty pricey - were you filling up with 'premium' diesel?

Really? I thought it was less than that.

That was Shell V Power yes.

Good grief, whoever managed to fit 58l in has half the size of my tank again!!

Painted the passenger brake calliper

Had it cleaned and polished

...wiped all the fire-extinguisher powder out of the interior (Blow-back through the open driver's window during the waxoyl-napalm incident), and reattached a few little bits of trim.

Gave it a wash. Darn bird bombs

Booked it in for a major service at VASSTech on the 3rd of next month so it can have everything it needs before the national and checked the spare tyre while doing the photo challenge. It still has all the air it had before so all is well.

Are Vasstech still quite expensive?
