What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

Washed, clayed, polished with AG SRP with the DA, waxed, cleaned wheels, put some Megs ultimate QD on wheels, put AG tyre dressing on tyres, polished windscreen with Gtechniq G4, coated it with G5 and then wiped the last quarter of a bottle of G5 off the front wing because for some reason I thought the bottle would be OK on the roof.   :swear::wall:  then coated all black parts with AG bumper gel, hoovered the interior, used some vinly and ruber care inside and some autofresh. Now it's all ready for the national in 2 weeks (by all ready I mean this is the last chance I had to fully clean it so now all it will need is a quick wash and some QD the day before I set off.

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Stuck a Briskoda sticker or two on it.....

Nothing overly exciting - I topped up my screenwash as the bottle was empty.

Popped into the VW dealership near my office to get a bottle of the good VAG screenwash concentrate from the parts counter. That was an experience - they were completely flummoxed and confused by someone coming in and trying to buy one of the aftercare items off the shelf. They had no idea how to ring it up or how to charge for it, and there were FOUR people staffing the largely underworked parts desk - I was the only customer (for anything) in the entire dealership. No wonder main dealers charge upwards of £150 an hour labour, funding that amount of unnecessary staff.

Oh, and they tried (but failed) to overcharge me for the screenwash. Won't be going back there again.

Do you want to buy a 5L bottle of Lidl screenwash? I only have 7 bottles left. (they're for my own personal use officer I swear)

Put a vrs steering wheel on my Elegance and started prepping my rear spoiler for spray.

I already have 4 of the 5l Lidl screen wash at home already ta.

I bled my brakes. Despite two mechanics telling me that they were ok, I still wasn't happy with them. Needless to say, there was a **** load of air in the system! And that's after they were supposedly bled twice by the garage. :-/

It's nice to have a firm brake pedal again.

Hello Mike.

I used one of these. Worked a treat as I was working alone. I also suspect that they weren't bled in the correct sequence by the garage which resulted in a spongy brake pedal.

Cheers

Dave.

Gave it a good wash today.

- cleaned the alloys with sonax wheel cleaner.

- snow foamed and rinsed. New snow foam to test. The autobrite magifoam.

- two bucket wash.

- PoorBoys - Black Hole'd it. First time I have used this and was impressed.

- Sonax BSD to finish.

Took me nearly three hours, so was a good 'workout'.

Changed the front shocks. Unfortunately I now need a new droplink and steering joint. So it's still on the drive on axle stands.

Not if there's a big dip in the road it isn't.

I work for Audi as a driver, so go all over the country collecting and delivering, today was Bolton, Wednesday down to Devon etc.

Not if there's a big dip in the road it isn't.

Was a couple of dips and a few bumps but it got me there in four minutes.. however did give it a super shine in the arvo, liquid wipers and all the rest.
