  • Picked up the new VRS: 2013 Fabia VRS by Graeme_Smith, on Flickr

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

  • modified the cup holder     It's now a hobnob holder

Had a hands free kit fitted by Halfords. :)

Thats an Irish amputee isnt it? :giggle:

Well not today but yesterday... washed them both and then went on the hunt for a rattle under the bonnet on the Octavia.

Found a couple of loose fuel lines / brake pipes so removed a few bits including the boost pipe to get at them and fix them back in their clips. Went for a run afterwards at the pricely speed of about 20 mph watching the dashboard slowly light up with warning lights!

Got home and had a look round under the bonnet - reconnected one of the sensor wires and refitted the boost pipe again (properly this time - it'd blown off - hence the lack of power :wall: ) and all seems hunky dory. In fact it seems twice as quick now it;s clean...

Put another litre of oil in the Fabia

Thats a litre a month at the moment

Then cleaned the engine bay

went to the scrappys for some bumper trim and the number plate back piece after I was hit in a car park a few weeks back. Washed them and blacked them up and popped them on. I got these two pieces, a gearknob :giggle: haha, knob! and a heated mirror glass for a fiver.

Much better Chris B)

Thanks Steve

Not cheap but worth it

Yep, often the way!

£240 fitting/alignment does seem a little steep mind you. What's the hourly rate at the place you used? And what do they charge for the laser alignment on its own?

no I cant so had to take off engine tray to get it, so a 2 min job turned into half an hour, I wish I had a pit , or a inspection ramp !all done now, and only me will see :rofl:

Blu, can I just ask, how much was this lever? as I need to cut mine to fit my honeycomb grill

They are £20 with vat , so no biggie Shame we are going to Wales this year not Bushmills, I could have given you my old one

Topped it up with just over a litre of oil for the second time in 1300 miles...

They do like a touch of the black stuff, these little TSI's don't they?!

Hope you're getting it for a decent price Damo!

Waiting for a call back from Skoda... and not so cheap... but what can you do? needs must

Halfords trade or Opie for it?
