  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Sold the damn thing for a proper car, an Astra 1.6 Twinport,

Pity, now the deal is done the Astra will be worth less than the motor you traded in.

Absolutely nothing today.

I didn't even drive it.

But I did look at it.

Most unusual.

Fitted new Skoda stubby aerial.

Finally completed my LED light conversion, by swapping out the mirror puddle lights (a slightly unnerving process as you carefully but firmly remove the mirror glass to gain access to the interior) and copying the rear number plate LED solution described so well by Gizmo68 here. It's a 15 minute job max, I got change out of a fiver for the bulbs and holders needed and I think it looks good.

Retrofitting footwell lights might be next, but as soon as I start to think about messing about with wiring looms I get nervous...

Popped into Autobrite with the intention of buying an adapter for the Snowfoam lance which should have been a simple £8 transaction.

£92 later and I have more items to treat the motor with :D

So.... let the detailing commence!

Gave it a wash and a polish with coconut smelling Zymol, Roomy smells lovely!

You are being ironic ?

My mam's, Astra did 81k miles without any issues. And even then, only the battery had to be replaced. The Astra H with the 1.6 Twinport is one of the best cars I've ever driven. I think only the volvo redblock is more reliable.

EDIT: Now I'm lying. Not without issues, my Lind adapter overloaded and took out the fuse for the 12 volt cigarette plug.

Ontopic: Gave my Fabia car to my dad while I fix his Saab. Kinda gives me a bad feeling though, he's already executed another Skoda, an Octavia.

Hard wired my iPhone cable & PDA cable behind the dash in the new taxi.

Polished all the windows with AG window polish

A JCB is reliable, I would not want to drive one :giggle:

Meh. Haters gonna hate...

Opel. German superiority at its best.

German , :giggle: the latest ones are a Fiat Brava in new clothes, my Father in law has always had an Astra till the up to the m4, he now has a fabia , they used to make real drivers cars, I had a Manta , not against the brand, just dull cars

Double post

This morning it looked like this

Where can I get some of them?!

That I can agree with, they are dull. Except for the Astra -J Turbo. That thing is pretty fun. Especially slightly modded and with the activeselect gearbox.

My mam has the 105bhp 1.6 Twinport in the Combi. Just enough power to drive comfortably. In all fairness, a 46 yo preschool teacher doesn't need 250bhp and turbo...

Oft: I always wanted an Opel Senator...

eBay or main dealer from lupo or polo, I put one in mine very handy

I bought them from a lad on Brisky mate, think you can get them from a VW dealer. There's a thread in mk1 fabia forum that gives you part number for them i think.

The night before I got married 1989, my best man ,( a car dealer ) picked me up in a 3.0 litre Senator, I said I am driving! ,(I had my stag night the week before ) he borrowed it to take me to the church , lovely car

Took the grill of my Mk2 Octy Vrs and sprayed the chrome surround in blue to match the car, looks MILES better.

Saw how dirty it is but can't wash it because of all this damn rain :(

Dropped off at dealer for a new compressor for the aircon, but got goodwill from Skoda AND the dealer , it is a Sept 56 plate so cheaper than an independent

Fitted my new wheels so I can decide if they will become my winter/summer wheels. The decision is harder than I thought it would be

Edit..

They look alot smaller than the Pegasus wheels and having an ET of 47 and feeling a bit more planted on the road I think they will be staying as winter wheels (unless I lower the car which I think would solve the problem but wont happen)

Well I can honestly say both Skoda GB and D m Keith do care about their customers. The compressor failed on my Air con and Angus Keith ( what a nice man) got involved to help my s i t u a t i o n , the car bought new here and only 42,000 miles but a Oct 56 plate Octavia vRS. anyway contribution from both meant I paid £454 including regass. They really do make Happy drivers, thanks to Lee, Craig and Anthony , and Alice for looking lovely! :p and to Angus and Skoda gb

Took it to the dealer to fix a door rattle.

Ordered some winter wheels for it. Decided swapping tyres on the Spitzbergs twice a year would work out more pricey than getting a second set of wheels, though 16"s instead of 17"s. Prefer the look of alloys to steels, so opted for a set of these. I really like the Spitzbergs and I think these are pretty close.
