What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

Got the JPS nicely washed and dried....

.......then it p*ssed down :rain:

me too! including a wax, just getting some petrol then torrential rain. Changed Leds in the side lights , one of them when you turned on, turned off again in 5 seconds, then if you turned on again stayed on, hence the replacement

I didn't even get chance to get started here! Had the idea, went out to get organised - then the rain descended and didn't stop....

Did 400 miles in it over the weekend and saw 600 on the miles left until empty shortly after brimming it. Never seen that before.

Had the honour and pleasure of driving my Skoda over the 100,000 mile mark

I gave the old girl a well deserved polish

I had all four wheels off and repaired the damage to the alloys caused by the previous owner. They look cracking now they've had the scratches and chunks that are missing filled, rubbed down and totally resprayed :-)

Took all my mods off and returned it to standard, getting itchy feet had it 6 months now and that's a long time for me!

Took my sunglasses out to wear to cycle to work. Car hasn't moved since Friday afternoon.... Porsche been getting all the attention. She'll be happy when I sell it again. :D

tried to get the bird poop off my bonnet :wall:

What did you use? Delicate care definitely required to prevent damage!

Keep some Autoglym bird dropping wipes in your glove box. Saved my paint so many times.

Got my nice shiny Columbus fitted, so if anyone's after a bolero give us a shout before it goes on the " bay "

Changed the pollen filter earlier. Now I expected it needed changing, but good grief! To be fair, that's 2 years of ownership now and I've forgotten to ask/check if it's been done at service. Clearly it hadn't - so it's been in there at least that long....

The new one is so white it barely gets picked up properly in the photo :)

So for the sake of £7 it's a no-brainer. Look at it! And all that debris fell out - the mat was freshly vacced at the weekend.

Removed my MFD unit and refitted the old symphony unit only to find I have no code for it :wall: looks like I'll be buying a new stereo earlier than planned

Went over to see Waplord who changed my car to Australian so I could get the big speedo. Also changed the XDS and brake settings too. Thanks again for that.

We took it for a spin but didn't notice much. The changes in braking is negligible. I'll test the XDS more thoroughly later

It's not about what I did to my Skoda, it's about what the f*cking great ****ehawk did to my Skoda today :@:wall:

G3 compound and some skill from one of our works bodyshop painters :) managed to remove it all without any damage. on a plus note he said he do a full 3 stage polish for £30

happy times

I fitted a new symphony unit and had to pay stealers to get it decoded. Also had to book it a few days in advance and I put my old one (broken screen) back in and that said "FE" on the half of the screen that worked, so I switched it off.

Apparently though, leve it switched on for 30 mins and assuming it "knows" the car it will auto decode

Does the Octy Mk1 not use ECU coding for the original headunit? If you're putting the original unit in that came with the car, it should just start working. Least that's what happens on the Fabia Mk1 and Octy Mk2...

Only usually need the code if you're moving it to another car.

Wired in my sub. I know some may not approve but I already had the whole kit from my old car and it seemed a shame to waste it.

Yes this does work, after a couple of minutes with the stereo turned on the SAFE display dissapeared and the music started, cheers fellas.

Excellent, good result

Anyone know the format of head unit codes? There's a bit of scrawl in the inside front cover of my manual, could be a code, could be something else entirely. Don't need it at present, just curious.

Not really within the scope of the 'What did you do to your Skoda today' - but it'll be a 4-digit code.

Often it will just be written down - Skoda used to issue a proper radio code card but don't do that any more.

Yeah, sorry for the OT question - but thanks, that fits with the scrawl.
