Was having a browse on Pistonheads and came accross this.........

RON HODGSON SPECIALIST CARS : FORD RS200 250BHP ORIGINAL EXAMPLE

Awesome and absolute legendary motor which I have a lot of respect for, but who on earth is gonna pay £110,000 for a 250bhp 23 year old ford? :eek:

Gorgeous car indeed. You cannot put a number plate on a car that is younger than the age of the vehicle. But as above the 1st date of registration must count as opposed to the date of manufacture.

In which case the plate is correct, it could have been kept in storage and only registered in 1993.

Hi,

yes it was as we kept it unregistered until 1993. Cars after a certain date 1993 could only be registered if they had a catalytic convertor which the RS200 does not have so we had to register the car.

Yes, please (if I had the money!). :drool: I have seen on e-bay some nice Metro 6r4s over the years, however I am a 6r4 lover.

If its not wrapped around a tree or stolen, its worth more as they become fewer.

Its probably the best example of that car in the world, and a collector will pay that sort of money for it.

Just found out that this was for sale in 2005 by the current owners for 'offers over £100,000'.

An I thought prices had gone down in the second hand market!
