Was having a browse on Pistonheads and came accross this.........

Awesome and absolute legendary motor which I have a lot of respect for, but who on earth is gonna pay £110,000 for a 250bhp 23 year old ford? :eek:

And why is it on a public road with a plate that's quite clearly not from a 1986 car on it?

Gorgeous car indeed. You cannot put a number plate on a car that is younger than the age of the vehicle. But as above the 1st date of registration must count as opposed to the date of manufacture.

In which case the plate is correct, it could have been kept in storage and only registered in 1993.

Hi,

yes it was as we kept it unregistered until 1993. Cars after a certain date 1993 could only be registered if they had a catalytic convertor which the RS200 does not have so we had to register the car.

If I won the lottery I'd buy it, along with a Lancia Stratos, Integrale, Audi Quattro, Metro 6R4, 205 T16 - I just love all the rally cars from that era
