Featured Replies

I checked yesterday and my vRS is still showing a build week 16 (mid Apr) - ordered 17 Feb. So it looks like I will be waiting the ful 12/13 weeks for mine to be delivered.

How are the cars shipped across to the UK, how many deliveries a month?

Maybe that is why the delivery times vary.

Hi guys, dont know if this will help. I ordered a Scout 2.0dti with xenons and spare wheel on the 15th of January and I am due to collect it from the dealers this coming wednesday 24th, YIPEE. it was a factory build as it couldnt be sourced in the Uk with our specified colour/ xtra combination. With a bit of googling I found that the Scout, and believe the VRS, are produced from Skoda's factory in Vrchlabi within the Czech Republic and are transported through Germany and shipperd into Grimbsy then onto the dealers. My dealer told me it takes about 3 weeks from Germany to collection at dealers, dont know if thats true or a dealer yarn

My car is build week 13 I think, 29th March.

I've been told to expect it around 19th April.

Good stuff, what date did you place your order?

11th March, but I picked one already in the system as opposed to a full factory build.

I'm on holiday that week (19th) - What I'd REALLY hope is that I can drop in all the info from my current car before I go away as I have a private plate on my car.

Then, while I'm away, car arrives on the 19th, they get all the paperwork sorted, and I can get my new car on the Saturday after I'm back.

Here's hoping.

I've noticed in this thread though that 19th April could be a week later (look at other peoples build/delivery combos) - It would be extra lovely if it comes in on the 12th April :D

All Octavias are made in Mlada Boleslav in Czechland. The completed painted shells are then transported to another Skoda site at Vrchlabí where final assembly takes place for VRS, L&K, Scout and 4x4.

This obviously means that these models take a few days longer to produce than say a SE or Elegance.

All cars are then sent on a train to the port of Emden in Northern Germany (VW Passat factory is here as well)

They then wait for a ship to be taken across the North Sea to either North Shields(Tyne), Grimsby or Sheerness.

Which of the 3 ports they go to is dependent on where your dealer is in the UK.

The specialised ship ferries do not run a timetable so sometimes your car could get 'stuck' at Emden waiting for a ferry, I was lucky, my new car went from factory to Grimsby in only a few days.

Normally from build to you collecting it is about 3 weeks

Thanks for your clarification of the build to ship process, I wonder why the main dealers don't seem to know this detail.

Then maybe they do, but do not want to pass it on in case we are too well informed, and start to ask relavent questions.

Thanks again Powermalc

I ordered 29th January and my car was getting built this week :) (week 11) so should get it around 16th April - approx 4 weeks after build date.

We ordered 1.4 elegance estate on jan 28 and were told wk 13 for build.

Think I might call the dealer this week to check

Rang my dealer today to try and get a time for when it should arrive etc and was told it should be built in week 15, I thought it was mid April, but the dealer though it was end of March, so not sure, but he said it can change weekly so not totally definite, but should get it by May any-road.

Ordered the car on 16th Feb so seems about right compared to everyone else.

Week 15 is Mid April, as mine is 13 and that's next week :)

hi bob been told today it should arrive at dealer at carlisle on 23/04/10 keep my fingers crossed

Thanks for update, my dealer took my Xtrail away yesterday and gave me a courtesy Roomster. He indicated end of april 1st week in May for pick up, depending on ships from Enden to Newcastle.

Build dates can change so not set in stone, ours has just gone from week 19 to 17 :thumbup:

I also ordered a Octavia Scout same time as you, I was told 2-3 weeks after build to delivery, dependant on ship availability, and which port it comes into. Also said past experience usually was early rather than late in the build date. Here is hoping !!!

Which model did you order?.

Regards Bob Wilson

Both my brother's and my new vRSs should be delivered to the dealer today :rofl: Mine was built 11 March and his 15 March - so about 2 weeks from factory to dealer.

Mine has just went from week 19 to 18.:)

  • 3 weeks later...

ordered on 6 feb and just been told today its build week 15. anyone know how long after this to car is at dealer

Just to let you know my 1.8 TSI Octavia scout is out of productin (Week 15) now waiting at Emden for a ship to Newcastle. Should be at dealer Ist week May (with a bit of Luck).

Yours should be on same ship.Is it out of production yet?

Regards Bob Wilson

I was told last week from what I trust to be a good source that the factory are going to increase production so on pre oredered cars deleveries may improve

That's all well and good, what about more ships to get them from Emden as well?

Mine and Waplords were meant to be at the dealers next week, but no sign of them leaving Emden yet.

I hope to God that this is true.

I was told I'll be waiting another six weeks for my car (due to lack of boleros; ordered feb 22nd). :(
