I ordered my Superb 1.8TSI DSG Elegance Hatch in silver on the 15th July and have so far resisted the urge to ask my Dealer for information on Build date etc. although I was originally told to expect a wait of 14 weeks.

Having read the postings on this Site I think I will await the telephone call telling me that the car has arrived.

Considering the extensive features list on the UK spec. Elegance, the only options ordered were spare wheel and floor mats.

Ordered my Superb Elegance Combi 5th March arrived at dealer 20thAug and I took delivery 2nd Sept..............

Spec. included the now infamous but very brilliant panoramic sunroof, hence the long delay. Also got sound system, MDI.electric boot, sunset glass, variable boot floor, fake wood (looks more real than Merc real stuff, very nice), auto dim mirrors and heated nozzles.

Really pleased with the quality and look of the car, even better than I had anticipated. Well worth the wait.

Sounds very nice specification hope you enjoy

I have a YETI 4x4 (4 months old) - excellent car but have ordered replacement Superb Estate 1.8TSI Elegance DSG (sunset glass, raised floor, auto dip mirror)

Before YETI I had a Superb Elegance 170 CR DSG for 6 months - fantastic car

YETI very good but could only be ordered at the time with manual - Superb excellent and can be ordered with DSG and perfect for dog in the rear

Placed order in July and given week 44 build date.

So perhaps delivery late November - I hope

My car was produced last week. Spoke to my dealer yesterday, and he say expected delivery week 43!!! Is that really normal? 6 Weeks delivery time? Any swedes here with experience of buying the Superb Estate? :)

Hello from Norway:-)

What are the specs of the car you ordered?

6 weeks is really fast, we were told we could be looking at 6 - 7 months waiting because of our specs (panoroof, amethyst, 1.6 cr engine) Ordered in first week of august, delivery late december or january 2011.

Could be that the factory got in a cancellation with the exact same specs that you ordered, so the computer picked yout to jump forward in the waiting-que?

Anyway, well worth the wait

I'm picking mine up after work today!

So excited, ordered 19th June, built wb 16th August.

Sorry, I might have been unclear. The production time was much longer, I ordered it in the middle of June. This was just the delivery time, from when it was built to when its being delivered. So that means it takes the 6 weeks to move my car from Czhech Republic to Sweden. Seems like a long time to me! :)

I just got my mfr date: January 25th 2011, ordered September 8. :'( on my Octavia Estate 1.6 TD SE)

Any idea how long from MFR to delivery?

Skoda Superb 170DSG Combi Elegance

Aqua Blue/Onyx

Auto Dimming Mirror

Upgrade Sound System

Ordered 24th July 2010, now scheduled build week 37.

Car now at dealers and will be registered as a September sale on Thursday, but I haven't got the time to pick it up until 1st October :(

  • 2 weeks later...

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a build week? I only ordered on the 30th September so I'm expecting it in the New Year... Any later than the end of Jan and I may as well tell the dealer to register it for the 1st March... at least it would be an 11 plate...!!!

Contacted my dealer today and according to him our car had been produced but had not left the factory yet. Originally we got build week 40 (this week) so it looks like things are speeding up a bit. Of course no indication of the time when the car is schedueled to be transported to Norway. This could be everything from a week to 2 months, according to posts here on this forum.

Specs underneath my nametag.

Fantastic news.

I'm not quite sure what I have done to cause my extended lead-time. I was going to speculate that it is a combination of diesel and DSG but then I noticed that Moro ordered his CR170 DSG Elegance a month after mine and has already had his delivered :(.

From previous experience ordering new cars, dealers are generally allocated a mix of cars to sell. If they cars that are difficult to shift in the range, they get a better allocation of the ones in demand. Certainly the case when I ordered an Audi TT.

It will probably make you mad, but I really didn't want mine to arrive as quickly as it did. Having said that, it's a great bit of kit for the money and I can understand why it wins so many awards.

Hope yours comes soon.

Interesting. Maybe the trick is to find a dealer that doesn't sell too many Superbs?

Hope yours comes soon.

Fingers-crossed the provisionally allocated build week 43 (25 October) will become a confirmed allocation in the next few days.

Best regards

David

Update from my dealer today, order placed 6th September, build week allocated wk 49.

So if it's built 2nd week in December it might possibly arrive for Xmas?

Who am I kidding, I'm never that lucky! :)

Update from the dealer today... ordered on the 30th Sept, current build week is now bw7, making it the end of Feb for production and some time in March for delivery!

Ordered mine 8th October. Initial expected stock date 31.12.10 !!

Haha, who are they kidding?? Not me, that's for sure. I expect i'll be having it registered with an 11 plate based on the other comments on this board.

Ah, I see you have ordered the KESSY, my dealer pushed me away from that option because of the potential long delays. You could always look at dropping the option to speed things up.

Mine was ordered on the 30th Sept and latest date was bw7.. that's the end of Feb 2011... mind you, the dealer had "a number of orders brought forward by two weeks" this week... so hopefully that'll happen to mine soon :)

The pano-roofs are outsourced by Skoda. It seems from feedback that they don't do what they say on the tin.

Mine was ordered 25:th of September, my dealer set up the order in the factory system, handed over the keyboard to me and let me push the button to order... BW was then v. 48. Last weekend I had a trip to the dealer for little test spin again (DSG in the city and a question about glass roof on a Skoda...). New BW: 45(!). But I'm very skeptical to this date right now, we have to wait and see...

I just read this weeks auto express and it looks like VW will be offering the panoramic roof on the new passat. So I don't think they've lost faith in the glass roof, perhaps they've just stopped offering it to differentiate between the VW and Skoda load luggers!

I now got confirmed that I can pick up my Superb Estate att the dealers on Wednesday next week. I ordered it on the 17:th of June which makes the lead time to about 18 weeks...
