Popped into dealers today after reading posts, I ordered the car 3rd sept 2010 and was given a build week of 50, today I was given a BW of 46, this has raised my hopes of getting the car before xmas, but have been told by the dealer this can all change again. Have to wait till nov 1st to hopefully get it cast in stone.

Why has time started going slowly just after ordering the car.

I ordered a TSI 1.8 with manual gearbox last week and was given a preliminary BW of 51. Seeing this post I got my hopes up for an earlier BW. :)

Hopefully my car will be with yours as I had the same build week.

Build weeks are just random, I orderd my car on 5th June and Vidio orderd his a week later and gets his next week.

Well pleased for Vidio but I am well jelous B)

Can relate to the envy! Ordered mine 25th May and allegedly being built as I type..... the build week tho apparently means it can start being built anytime 8am Mon - 5pm Fri so hopefully I caught some luck and got a Monday build...

The call came this morning - my car will be at the Dealers on Monday. Hopefully I will collect on Thursday provided it doesn't fall off the Transporter or the Insurance docs. get lost in the post. Very excited!!!!!

Collected my car from the dealers yesterday afternoon and it is fantastic - The quality design and space are 'superb'. It drives like a dream, so quiet and refined and the DSG is fantastic. The satnav and the phone connection are up and running but the only thing that doesn't work is the time and temp display at the rear of the centre console - is there a Maxi-dot option to fire this up?

Feel sorry for all of you who have a long wait ahead - but it's worth it

Where I come from a Monday built (choose product here) is nothing to wish for. Workers with severe hangovers will not do anything good then.... B) An extremely bad car often is related as a "built on a Monday". Apparently this point of view isn't all around then. Hopes for the best for you!

They used to say the same for cars built on a Friday... people rushing to get them finished to clock off on time.

I reality, with shift patterns being the way they are, I do wonder whether it really makes a difference, after all, how many people really go out for heavy drinking on a Sunday..?

Elegance 1.8 Tsi DSG + some xtras/ Straight purchase/ Ordered 26th July 2010 (Delivery estimated November 30th 2010)

Brochure states "Hill Hold Control standard equipment". Reading this Forum there seems to be some confusion with this feature!

Delivery 16th October 2010 so its 12 weeks. Not too bad since I was quoted 16-18 weeks

Up north that was a BIG issue 100-150 years ago. In fact, our whole society was going under because heavy drinking. But that is a discussion for another forum. Back to the Skodas!

Your dealer can tell you when exactly the day in your BW your car was built and where it's location is on it's journey to the UK. Mine is on a ship sailing to Grimsby from Emden as I post. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Skoda brochure was incorrect "Hill Hold Control standard equipment". is only on 1.8TSI - not on the V6 as stated in the sales brochure (it was an option on this model)

Skoda sent out stickers to dealers and requested that they covered up the error in brochure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had an update from my dealer today. When the car was ordered, it was build week 4, this slipped to build 7... as of today it's slipped forward to build week 2 :D

Mine being built today :)

Should be at my dealer week 46

Looks like christmas is coming early this year :)

My car is at the dealer. BW40. 10 weeks almost to the day since I ordered. emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Still trying to pin my dealer down to a date. Best they will do is confirm BW as 48 and delivery a very vague 2 - 4 weeks afterwards. Ordered end of July, so not best chuffed.

I shouldn't worry too much. My build week of 43 (next week) has only become confirmed this week. It seemed to stop slithering backwards and forwards as an advisory date about four weeks ago. Delivery to the dealer has been quoted to me as 3 to 4 weeks from build, but then the wretched cherished company number plate has to be transfered so I suspect I am in the hands of the local DVLA office with regard to delivery to me.

Best regards

I'm getting sick of waiting......ordered wk 28 (early July) and told delivery to me would be mid Sept (a bit optimistic from what I see here). Then build week slipped to wk40, and now is estimated at wk48, but the dealer can't confirm that either, so expected delivery just before Xmas. I didn't really anticipate waiting 6 months from order!

Guys I spoke to a friend of mine today that ordered her Quashki in August and was told Decemeber has now been told because is auto it will me end of March now. So go Skoda

My dealer DMK Leeds have a online facility to plate a car. I just supplied my Retention Certificate and they did the rest. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Problem is that the plates are not put on retention in anticipation of the new vehicle. New vehicles are first registered on standard plates and then the cherished plate is transferred from the vehicle it replaces. This is all done by the dealer.

Does anybody know the cost difference in DVLA admin for each approach; retention and first registration onto cherished plates compared to first registration on standard plates then cherished transfer?

I bought my plate from DVLA it went straight onto my new car. No other plate was involved. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

My order:

Placed on 8th October. Initial stock date quoted as 31st December.

This has already been postponed to 14th January.

Strange thing these different delivery times. Ordered a Superb (wagon) Ambition Business (Norwegian equipment level to meet certain tax levels for fleet vehicles, also open for private buyers like me) 2.0 140PS DSG in week 35. delivery in week 43. I added some extras, but not the panoramic sun-roof as my dealer warned me of a delivery time of at least 6 months. The equipment level is not that far off Elegance, and 8 weeks is not bad I must say, regarding all the stories in this thread. I'm lucky I'll guess, can't wait to get my hands on it :)

As I think of it, I did'nt order the upgraded loudspeaker kit as the majority of people in this thread have done, maybe they have delivery difficulties because of that option. Very unlikely I know, but some extra equipment must be the cause of the very long delivery times witnessed in this thread. The upgraded speaker package is rubbish anyway because of the low level distortion caused by the door cards. I knew it would be a problem because it was excactly the same problem with the upgraded speaker package in my (beloved) Golf mk V GTI. It was the only let down of that car, and I promised myself to never go for an upgraded speaker package from VAG ever again.

So an Blaupunkt PnP amplifier awaits the Superb, along with an active sub. Is there anyone that know about good replacement speakers for the doors?
