Tordoff massively better than Neate. Good first 2 races for Plato!

  • I'll always support Plato purely because he winds people up but has the skills to back it up, unlike a certain Chris James who has blocked me on Twitter. I didn't say word to him either With Turkingt

I think Rouse is a great driver but his numbers are flattered by the fact that his second title was inherited due to politics  and his 4th was almost a given since he had the only turbocar in the top

Fear of fuel line issues after the bonfire at Donington

Apparently seeing early signs of a repeat of Coles issue at donington

Big shunt race 1 - Matt and the 2 guys that hit him directly all in the wrong?

I read that Matt (fighting a puncture)aimed for the pits but didn't see the car that was already alongside?

Either way he'll be really popular in the garage for taking Flash out again...

You didn't see the race then?

What I thought happened after several replays was that Matt punctured, tried to turn into the pits from centre of track, and then 2 others tried to go between him and the pit entry (yes into a narrowing gap, and the second one certainly into a gap less than a car wide).

BTCC coverage finishes (on a stream) 9AM here so after a Saturday night in Sin City - No I didnt see it - just read the reports.

Will he get points on his licence for not pulling off the track with the puncture but dragging it round to the pits and causing a huge shunt?

Hope so.

Well, the puncture happened at the Thruxton chicane, so he was only about 30 yards from the pit entry.

And the description in the text report was wrong; Matt had clear track behind him when he punctured, but was caught faster than he expected. Critically, he wasn't caught until after he'd started his move right.

Should use his mirrors!  Not all the teams are as rich as Dynamics - hefty repair bills all round.

If fact that's been a theme for Matt's opposition for many years now, since he is the greatest user of push-to-pass in the BTCC.

He's still leading the championship though - amazingly Collard is up there too - could Rob be shaping up to do a "Leicester City" if the usual big names have less than stellar seasons?

I think Plato's chances have gone up in smoke like Cole did last time out.

Even without the technical issues, Turk is smoking all the other drivers at BMR at the moment.

s/Matt/"Jason Plato"

;)  I'd agree that it's looking like a good year for Rob Collard.

I dont think the accident was matts fault tbh

I think.it was a mixture of everyone involved other than flash he was unfortinate

Meh, I'm not a Neal fan if i'm honest.

I felt that he just swerved right to get into the pits ASAP without realising that some cars could have been up the inside of him! :wonder: I'm not saying that he is wholly to blame, but he isn't blameless.

I was happy that he got what was coming to him though after that first corner. It still amazes me how he gets away with his blatant push to pass tactics.

Turks is still my number 1 driver, it was a shame that BMR couldn't race, but to be honest, they would have just been moving chicanes!

He did cause a big crash, he should get points on his licence for it.

All he needed to do was wait at the chicane until the others passed and then go in the pits.

Ironically sat here writing this in my Honda Yuasa T shirt!

Good news for Subaru today.

Subaru took its first ever pole position in the British Touring Car Championship as Colin Turkington snatched top slot at Oulton Park.

The Northern Irishman clocked a lap time of 1m26.264s to eclipse Dan Lloyd's Eurotech Racing Honda Civic by just 0.019 seconds.

Japanese cars have been fitted with a new inlet manifold since the last meeting at Thruxton and have conducted a test session at Pembrey in South Wales.

Fantastic racing.

Great for the Subarus.

That oil fire wasn't a good sign though.

Oops Warren.

I see Matt Neal  got a reprimand for crashing his title rival Collard in qualifying.  Bit of a theme developing - Neal and Crash in the same sentence?

OK OK Ken - so Plato then tagged his team-mate too!

And the race 3 winner is seriously exceeding my pre-season expectations too!  Well done!!

Collard should of gave him more room

The stewards believed he did.

What on earth were the top team in the BTCC doing all weekend? Shocking results throughout?

I did notice the usual Honda whinge about top speed from Neal in a report.

Surely they are free to use the TOCA engine just like everyone else if they cant make theirs fast enough?

Don't suppose anyone has any discount codes for the BTCC at Snetterton in a couple of weeks do they?
