Make Me Feel Better

Featured Replies

Guys....I posted a thread on here last night re:touch up paint as I noticed a cm long scratch on the front skirt next to the spotlight. I have touched it up with a black paint stick, and its better.

Thing is, I know its there and its pi**ing me off.....anyone else had to do this with a 3 month old car????

Sorry to hear about the 'scratch'...and once you've noticed it will always bug you :(

Depending on how bad the scratch is you could try...

I've never used them but they may be able to help. Others on here may be able advise! :)

Yep, got a huge stone chip on the bonnet within a few weeks of purchase. Many more small ones have now been added, and the front spoiler looks terrible when closeup.

Thanks guys.....in a funny kinda way it makes me feel ok about it. Damn cars.

Each Chips Away technician is different, but on the whole i'd recommend thier work.

Had few small marks ( stones ?) on the bonnet - the touch up seems to be a good match. Its the scratches that I always seem to have trouble with - the repair never seems to blend in with metallic paint.

A golden eagle or similar, crapped on my car on my home from the showroom! :grumpy: But, yeah, once that first chip/scratch occurs its annoying, but then once another one comes, it's like, "Oh, well" - then they just become part of owning a car. Things can be bought to touch up / remove scratches, so it's not all a downward spiralling paint job. ;)

within 2 weeks of owning mine someone bumped into the back of me at a junction, damage to bumper and need re-painting,wasn't a happy fellow.

and at least you've had your car for the last 8 weeks and 3 days!!!

watch out for Deer as you leave Ongar Carefree!!!!

My car is 9 months old now and it has many scratches, marks and stonechips (especially on the bonnet). I've tried to keep the alloys decent, but I still seem to have managed to mark one slightly. Basically I'm just not that worried about it anymore. Its bound to happen, especially considering how and where I drive. I'm surprised it hasnt had a collision with a large animal yet, as I've had 3 close calls in it. And it was hit by an uninsured driver about 6 months ago, still havent had my money back for that yet.

i got hit by a guy jumping the lights in my 106 when it was about 5-6months old

I have noticed a small dent in the offside rear door!!!! and I do my best to park in end bays to give more room for the car next to me.. I presume trying to have it pulled out will make it worse... Just shows you can never take too much care :(

Could have been worse.....

ChipsAway (well my local guy anyway) does dent removal. As Ross said, every technician will be different, but I was very pleased with the work.

Steve

well i wish the deer i had hit was as small as that, the one i hit was as wide as my car, hence the well over 2 grand cost to repair.

was lucky really though,if it had come through my screen it would have a lot worse as i wasn't hanging around!!!!

Could have been worse.....

I had one of thjose munkjack deer do that to me 5 years ago, hit it at exactly 60 mph and it dissappered into the front of the car

My local Chipsaway tech is superb. He removed a really deep chip out of the a-pillar on my Focus and the paint match was the best I'd ever seen. You really wouldn't have known it'd been done - and it was silver!
