Look what the Stork delivered today :)

Featured Replies

I know I don’t post on here much any more, but I thought you might like to see I have returned to the darkside (well sort of). Just got her this afternoon. Sorry the pictures were taken with a phone (white balance is poo). It started to rain before I could take any proper ones. Still at least it shows she was clean at least once in her life :D

It's a SKODA - well, sort of... ish! emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Very nice! emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Ta :) I am sure there will be more than a few Skoda bits in it, or should that be, there will be plenty of it’s Audi bits, in a Skoda? Surprisingly economical too for a big lump.

I just realised, I can now say "fire up the Quattro" whoopeeeeeee :)

Nice looking car, what engine has it got Lady E'??

Didn't like to say anything before but I wasn't jealous of the BMW :giggle:

Maybe a little envy now though

It's an

A4 S-line 3.0tdi Quattro

Plus:

Tech pack high (MMI and 3G sat nav etc)

Full Audi Drive Select

Sports Diff

B&O Sound system

DAB

A couple of minor packs and folding mirrors etc

The car is still running in, but I still doubt it will steer as well as the BMW. But it feels very 'planted' if you see what I mean.

I am now officially skint and my accountant will beat me over the head with a soggy copy of his FSA documents when he hears about it. :D

Good choice, a neighbour does some serious commuter miles and has the A5 3.0 TDi,

swears it's the best engine and car he's had, enjoy

Very nice Amanda :)

Sig change time :)

Ta very muchly. The engine isn’t quite as thrusty or economical as the 330D engine, but it has a very pleasant growl and it looks like 40+mpg at an indicated 80mph is quite ‘doable’. Not bad for a heavyish 4x4 with a loon at the wheel :)emoticon-0148-yes.gif I couldn’t afford the A5 if I wanted to add the ADS and Sports Diff sadly, but I must admit I thought about selling a kidney for the A5 Sportback. I think it’s a gorgeous looking car. I can see why the Chermans like bombing up and down Autobahns in them

I still feel the same about BMWs I am afraid. Perhaps I will ‘get better’ soon. I look at it this way, the BMW 330D will always be a slightly better drivers car on the right day, but the A4 will be a fine drivers car, every day (at least if you spec the ADS and SD option)

B) And I don't even have to rely on velcro

I'm really liking that .... a lot. Really nice car.

Not jealous at all, honest. ;)

Very nice Amanda

Just needs a Shark Performance remap now to give some monumental shove in the pants

Thanks for the kind word, although I am not sure I want a huge shove in the pants thanks Bryan!! I’ll try to do some inside pics soon. Got a small problem with the shutter release on my camera at the mo. Heres a few more exterior ones. The 3D Sat Nav just looks like a tom tom map with more definition and the voice is plain weird :D

Perhaps I should have gone for the bling wheels and not have had the car debadged too :D I was aiming for stealth…….honest. Had a quick drive tonight and find the car effortless to drive, not anywhere near as hyper as the BMW.

Very nice, I started off looking at Audis then moved to looking at VWs and finally settled on the vRS.

Wanted the quattro, but realised I couldn't afford it (I'm getting divorced and had a baby on the way...who arrived today) so the vRS was my compromise emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Seems like a good compromise. I have exactly the same hook in my boot as my old Octy had and I think the indicator stalks etc are the same. I'm frightened to delve any deeper in case I find a Skoda badge somewhere and can't get a refund :D

Congratulations to the über skoda emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Did a similar change myself last week. Traded my RS in for an A6 3.0TDI Avant. Effortless to drive, very stable at speed and very quiet. Too heavy to have as much fun as the RS offered, but a good company to drive many miles a year.

How’s your mpg going?

Down (less miles to the gallon) in comparison to the RS. emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Driving the car in Holland it will use about 1-1.5 litre per 100km more. In Germany over a longer distance at speed (mostly 180-220 and sometimes up to >250) mpg is more or less the same as the RS (although it wasnt capable of the same speed), maybe a difference from up to 1 litre (10 to 11 litres on 100km). I think the 3.0TDI might be a bit more efficient driving 180-220, as the RS had to work real hard for these speeds.

Overall with my driving profile it will take 1-2 litres more than the RS. Not surprising me, the car weighs 400kg more than the RS. emoticon-0104-surprised.gif
