Down (less miles to the gallon) in comparison to the RS. emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Driving the car in Holland it will use about 1-1.5 litre per 100km more. In Germany over a longer distance at speed (mostly 180-220 and sometimes up to >250) mpg is more or less the same as the RS (although it wasnt capable of the same speed), maybe a difference from up to 1 litre (10 to 11 litres on 100km). I think the 3.0TDI might be a bit more efficient driving 180-220, as the RS had to work real hard for these speeds.

Overall with my driving profile it will take 1-2 litres more than the RS. Not surprising me, the weighs 400kg more than the RS. emoticon-0104-surprised.gif

I will watch your mpg figure in your sig with interest (if you do one for the A6) :)

Should work emoticon-0105-wink.gif

But you have the newer 3.0TDI with 240hp, that should be more economical than mine (thinking of bluefinning it though. Still have the handset of my RS and it doesnt cost that much to use in the A6)

Anything from 40mpg upwards is a win as far as I am concerned :D

I have just read the 150 page MMI instruction book, cover to cover and I am feeling proud of myself. Mind you the bit about adding destinations to the directory as opposed to the memory was a bit confusing without being sat in the car to fiddle with it as I read the stuff.

(I'm getting divorced and had a baby on the way...who arrived today)

Am I the only one who feels a congratulations is in order here? .... on both counts. Congratulations man.

Good point. Congratulations to Raglits and Mini-Raglits :)

I am now officially skint and my accountant will beat me over the head with a soggy copy of his FSA documents when he hears about it. :D

Someone must be having a good year

Seems a bit OTT for going to McDonalds though :giggle:

Very nice car Amanda, welcome to the darkside B)

Well as it’s a VAG engine it will produce significantly more in the real world of course :D Anyhoo it’s the 367lb/ft that makes the difference :) the traction out of and even through corners, is amazing. Much more like my old Scooby, but more grown up. The Active Diff really does make a difference, even at running in speeds.

Not been to McD's in it yet. I am frightened that my paultry wheel choice will be laughed at by the Chavs

Thanks. Don’t suppose you know if the old residual heat thing works with the heater after switch off. No mention of it in hand book, but I found a pdf version on line that suggests you hit the OFF button after switch off and can use the residual heat in the engine (like in my BMW). Doesn’t seem to work, but wondered if I was missing a trick.

Very nice. I had an A6 LeMans Edition with that 3.0TDi engine and that was fantastic, in an A4 it must be a real flying machine with reasonable MPG too!

Although I am still in the running in phase. It already feels like it has more thrust than my old 123D! Only real niggle so far is the strange click/clonk a few seconds after pulling away with the hill holder activated. I think it must be some sort of system resetting itself as it doesn’t do it with the normal pulling away with the electric handbrake on. Got a nice long run to London this week so will take it steady and see what mpg I can get. Shouldn’t to be too bad as 6th runs at about 40mph/1,000rpm.

Audi were doing some very nice offers on the A6 le Mans version, but it is just too huuuuuuge for me.

Very nice Amanda.

Very nice Amanda.

Thank you.

Interestingly enough, I have just realised that I have now owned the full 4x set of VAG marques (well their regular ones).

Piccies of the inside pleez! emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Incl the 3D Sat Nav - go on, you know we'll only be jealous! emoticon-0120-doh.gif

Took a few pictures when I went to the shops tonight. It was great. everyone was watching the footie and the store was empty :) Here are a few of the Sat Nav, starting with what it looks like with all instructions displayed, followed by the extra instructions removed. I use the Exit display option, which overlays half the exit roads over the map (sadly I can't take a photo and drive at the same time). Then there are a few pictures in the car park (taken rather quickly as the kids on the skateboards were getting a bit aggresive near me.

Suspect the mini Raglits will win the beauty/cuteness contest by a county mile emoticon-0100-smile.gif

ps I would like to take a wide angle shot of the interior with the front seats laid back to see it properly (waits for suitable smutty comment from you know who). I need to do it quickly as the car starts getting dirty now as it is being used for work emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif It does look like Blackpool illuminations at night!!!

Not something i've tried with the heater, I know the aircon continues to work for a short while after the compressor has stopped. I'll give it a try

Piano music is guaranteed to send me to sleep - I don't dare have any in the car as I'd have driven into a concrete motorway bridge by now.

The BMW had a button for it, but I don’t think the A4 can do it, al least not in B8 guise :( seems a waste really, there is an awful lot of heat comes from that big lump at the front (engine Brimma…..the engine)

Ok I have a question. Having got my SD card working with mp3s, I thought I would try WMAs, namely the lossless version. Sadly the MMi only recognises the ID3 tags. I am assuming that the current Skuds have basically the same sort of head units and card readers, so does anyone know if it’s possible on a Skud? The AMI input using a USB apparently will work with WMAs, so I assumed the SD card would too. Oh well, can’t expect the A4 to do everything the BMW could do (or perhaps a Skoda?) :D
