Thanks Ben,

Map arrived at approx 2.00pm :) Just need to find time to upload as cooking tea, looking after my kids and grandparents, as you can guess the other half is not back from work .....arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Cheers,

Heliotrope

Uploaded late last night, test drive just a few minutes ago...

Very eager after 3k, much fatter shove, pulls very hard in 5th from 60 > xxx :-)

Smoke level noticeable with hard acceleration however I guess the ECU is recalibrating...

Normal driving no smoke increase, and less throttle required than before to reach a given speed.

Overall verdict, excellent! Recommended

Thanks to Ben @ Shark performance

Will the extra smoke be a concern at MOT time?

I don't think it will be a problem..MOT do not test smoke under full throttle under load..Anyway, with the STS you can always switch is back before hand ;-)

I will do some more tests today at some point, I only noticed it when absolutely booting it, normal driving, including starting, etc was exactly as before..

From all the videos, etc I have seen after a map, there will be some level of extra smoke, I guess as they say - more smoke more poke.....

Maybe you have a boost leak?

I had exactly the same thing, Ben said that his map should not smoke - even under full load, and sure enough, the boost pipe connecting to the top of the IC was slightly off.

One new pipe later, and no smoke, but even more poke B)

Indeed, we aim for smokeless maps (we've gone green at Shark Performance :D) so it's worth checking for boost leaks just in case.

Just filled up with V-Max diesel, so just had a decent run as the garage is not nearby...Boy does it shift :-) Anyway, checked again in 2nd flooring it, you do get a bit of smoke at about 3.5k to 4.5k..tyres scrabbling for grip in the dry!

Driving it normally no problems, much improved driving experience... :-)

Will check the pipes as soon as I can....

uploaded saturday night tok car out sunday morning and drove as normal got a little bit better MPG for same journey that I do every week. On return journey gave it some beans. only issue was a stutter the first two times (a couple of seconds) after flooring it but hasn't happened again. Can certainly feel the difference in acceleration and throttle response.

Before I new I was accelerating now I can feel it as well.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

One downside: The seventy quid I have just paid Avivia.emoticon-0149-no.gif

PS.

Thanks Ben excellent job at a brill price.

cheers

Emailed map on Friday.

Still not hear anything.

Do you have it Ben? Skoda octavia 105

Or is it your snowed under a few maps? :o

I would imagine its in with a bundle of others! we are just waiting patiently, it will get here when its done, good things come to those who wait etc!

Yeah wait patiently like I did......... and yes it arrived all of 30 mins ago... and now installed... (BUT!! big BUT!) I have builders in the house at the mo and they have blocked off my driveway so will have to wait for them to move before I can go for a drive emoticon-0106-crying.gifemoticon-0106-crying.gifemoticon-0106-crying.gif

Err, you could say that. If you could see my Outlook client at the moment...

Usual turnaround is 1 working day (i.e. Mon-Fri 9-5), however expect this to extend a little as we have 70 STS units to deal with!

Also, how good would it be to get a map that wouldnt allow the car to rev any more than 3k RPM, for when it goes to garage etc

Cheers Ben, another one with a new car     !!! And after giving it a boot over 20 mile round trip I still got 32mpg? Maybe I was been a bit too gentle with it?

Please spare a thought for us miserable sods who have not yet received their STS units, especially when remapping your car and enjoying your first test drive.

Can you please drop me a PM with your details so I can track that for you? Cheers

Just uploaded the map.

and.

OMG!!!! It's like a rocket! Upto about 2500RPM, it's the same as it was before, then the turbo kicks in, and it pushes you back into the seat, and does so all the way to 7k.

Does it in any gear too

Well impressed.
