Yep I agree with this. My FR TDI now pulls Stupidly strong in 2nd and 3rd with the traction control now really struggling to control the torque. Lovely and smooth too no jerky 1st gear anymore. Can't wait to get it out on the motorway.

Ben I realise im a month too late for the Group Buy but if you have any STS Units left over where people have cancelled or if you can get hold of any more please give me a shout.

Me and my partner have been busy having a baby in the last 4 weeks and time has flown by.

The car has been neglected and I really crave more power.

They told me to look at the Group Buy and by the looks of things you are a very busy boy.

Swarve give him a call, I know someone else dropped out due to a central heating issue and I was lucky enough to pick up that place, I don't think anyone else dropped out on here but across the other forums involved it's possible, congrats on the little one, our youngest is 4 months old and has just started teething... If you think the last 4 weeks have been 'fun' you ain't seen nothing like teething nappies!

I sent my map off on Friday morning and (rather naively) hoped it would be back but having just done a rough guesstimate judging by an early review of the STS unit on here 40 minutes was quoted for turnaround (i'm guessing ideal conditions) so if you work on the basis, it's circa 11 maps per day if he does absolutely nothing nothing else other than have a 30 minute lunch break, in an earlier post Ben stated he'd received over 70 orders for the group buy, factor in the awkward stuff like maps not taking, lost/corrupted emails, people who've had 'trial' maps and don't know so need a re-flash to standard, corrupted dumps/emails, inquiries, missing STS units, the phone ringing, the other pre-booked work he'll have on and the joys of running a business and i'm guessing lead times will be 3-6 working days rather than the normal 24 hours (can you tell i've spent waaaaaaaaaaaaay too long thinking about this ?). If anything it should be better now as a load of the units that were first sent out will be done by now.

Randomly our washer packed up today so perhaps STS orders and household appliances don't get along ? :'( Either way as others have pointed out it's like waiting for Christmas when you're a kid and the more positive feedback I read the more i'm convinced it'll be worth the wait.

Ben if you do read this turn the monitor off for five minutes and have a brew, we'll wait

Hi there, finally got my map downloaded then uploaded and sent to you - hope it's all in the right format. Looking forward to getting it back.

If you don't mind me asking, what exactly are you doing when I send you my standard map? I would have thought that you would need the car with you to produce a bespoke map, or conversely, would just have a generic "this is a map for an Octavia vRS" and send that pre-loaded on the STS. Genuinely interested in how this works, being somewhat of a techie (IT, not cars!) myself.

I was hoping this too, only just got my VRS when this group buy was ongoing and had a silly idea the car was fine standard.... a month or 2 later and now i understand what an STS is (lol) i'm kicking myself.

I sent mine on Friday afternoon, the new maps arrived this morning and I've been out for a drive. Wow! I left my Octavia alone and remapped my VW Transporter - this used to be a 2 tonne 88 bhp lumbering beast. What a difference. No more belching smoke on start up, and it accelerates like a car now. I can tackle hills without worryign about creating a traffic jam or changing down the gears. Great job, cheers Ben

Hi, not chasing - I fully understand you must be super busy, but just want to make sure that you have recieved the map and it's in the correct format. Hate to be waiting on something that you hadn't actually received!

hi all any you guys who have put the remap on did you get the programming complete sign and turn ignition off and remove cable,i only get turn ignition off and press y but it just reappears have tried car and map is on it has totally transformed the car goes like stink in all gears ,cheers ben awesome job

I got the turn off and remove cable message. Sounds like yours has done the job though - wish I'd ordered one for the Octavia too now

well, now that you have an STS unit, why don't you ask Ben for a map for the saloon?

I had hoped to buy one STS and two maps but when I asked Ben he explained that the only way this could be done was one 'live' map per STS unit. I should have asked if he can reset them on return eg you pay a security deposit, he sends you a loan STS unit which you use to dump your map, upload it and then re-flash the new map and return it for re-set and a refund less postage and a nominal fee, it'd be a great way of people who can't easily get to him and don't want/need an STS long term to get a Shark remap.

When I spoke to him yesterday he was still run off his feet but thought he'd be able to get my map to me by the end of the day, nothing's arrived yet but i've taken the STS to work hoping that it'll arrive today and the drive home will be more interesting than the drive to work

Really?

That wasn't my understanding when I signed up for this. Why would that be the case? If we're emailing maps around the place, then surely we can just store them on our PCs (backed up of course) and upload and download them as and when? Isn't that entire point of the STS unit?

The STS only works with one car at a time. It locks to the car once you upload a modified map to it, and does not unlock until it has been returned to original mapping (i.e. standard).

Hi Ben you will be glad to hear that i will not be uploading my map until after 22nd of october. Getting car serviced Just in case there are any updates. Also do you recommend switching to annual services.

Yeah i thought i was getting mine yesterday and today but still nothing as yet has appeared and i sent the original map on Sunday :(

i thought you had dropped out of the GB. you should try to load a stage 3 map onto your vRS for comparison purposes.

I did but then came back in.

Im getting the Map for the Slingshot but still waiting. Ben did say to me yesterday he would probably have it done then. Said similar today and that he was very busy (which is always a good sign). But still no map :(

I reckon mine has been the longest so far at 5 days. Must be shoving some extra BHP & LB/FT in there for good measure

Cheers for the heads up Ben, i'll take the STS with me to work, quite looking forward to finishing time now. I feel your pain on leaving the house one day and not getting home till the next, I did 9am till 12:30am earlier this week so i'll be making a point of having an early finish today to have a bit of fun on the way home
