What I'm worried about is my spam filter blocking the file :-(. Thats why I thought I would come ask you guys what the score was. For all I know mine was emailed earlier in the week and its been sent to SPAM hell :-(

I've got a few upgrades to do first anyway, so I'll wait for the rush to die down :)

Improve the ability of the car to handle the extra performance first is the rule I follow

Cheers,

Steve

Got mine through at around 6.30pm, cheers Ben your a star.

Just uploaded the maps on to the STS and will put them on the car and take a trip for Diesel after tea!

Will I sent you an email earlier mate, can you drop me a line tomorrow please?

Cheers :)

Just tried the new map and it's better than I imagined!

You've done me proud Ben!

Uploaded map today transformed car pulls much harder now.

Very impressed

just got home late to find our maps waiting! w00t! feedback on sunday!

At the end of the process it asks whether you want to keep the original counter values or clear them. What does this mean? Is this question referring to faults codes that may be logged? thanks.

I think the ecu keeps a count of changes, I choose to unconditionally reset to zero

I think that is the flash counter.

If you clear that and your car is in warranty then Skoda will know something is amiss.

I could be wrong though so i'd wait for clarification from Ben.

Thanks guys, couldn't find it mentioned in the pdf manual. Looking forward to test drive later.

Ben I've sent you my map again now via my work and hotmail account just in case the file is being damaged someway in transit. I notice I get a stupid Windows 7 Message after i've finished reading the map off the device and saving it saying this program may have needed Administrator rights bla de bla. Anyone had any problems with this in Win 7/Vista or did everyone just run as administrator straight from the off?

No worries with Windows 7, I used run as administrator from a limited account with the Xconsole, and didn't experience any problem.

Yeh the difference on mine was it didnt actually want to run as administrator. But then showed a message as I was closing down Xconsole saying this program didnt run properly? So i'm wondering if thats knackered my map up?

You deffo right clicking on the Xconsole icon and choosing to run as administrator?

Does it make a difference?

Does it make a difference?

If the account you are using does not have administrator priveleges, right clicking and running as administrator elevates the priveleges.

Ahh its all good Ben says its worked this time :-). Its an odd one as the application seems to be able to save the file wherever it wants without running elevated but then after you quit the program it says that the program might not have run properly. My first upload must have just been a dodgy one :-)

ok, so i have my new maps back from ben but not yet applied to the car, a few questions first:

- why two maps? what is the "immobiliser" map for? couldn't find this in the instructions anywhere?

- applying the new map - does the ignition have to be on or off?

- reset the flash counter or not ? It's been asked here already but no answer posted yet?

Thanks.

The "immobiliser map" is a bonus feature, if you are off on holiday, and write this map, no one will be able to start the car, even with the key IIRC.

you will have to have the ignition on, but not the engine running. the unit will prompt you as you go.

you can reset the counter if you wish, its no big deal ( I didnt), although some like to reset it if still under warranty so the Dealers cant detect its been mapped....

Thanks.

Just applied the Performance map - as you said, it prompts you what to do with the ignition.

Didn't ask me if i wanted to reset the counter..

Quick run up the road and back to check its functional - feels stronger already even at sensible speeds. Looking forward to my drive home tonight

had the map on a few days now, thankyou ben its totally transformed the car would defo recomend!
