Had the new map on the car for about 1,000 miles now:

First few drives you can really feel the ecu adjusting the boost as it learns - I was a but unsure at this point and maybe a little concerned that this was going to be the new 'feel' for the car, but i needn't have worried - its now bedded in fine and at low speeds feels completely OE, but when you're boosting its absolutely fantastic. Completely changes the car - its a real weapon now

Thanks Ben!

Quick question - what if anything should I also be considering changing now i'm running higher boost? I know some of the early TFSI engines it was recommended to change the dump valve - is this necessary on the later TSI (fl) cars or is the later VAG item now up to the job?

Nothing to worry about on the TSI engine Rob, the DV is not like the older pre FL cars

Pleased to hear that you're happy with it :)

So in answer to my previous question, way up the thread, I should be looking at dump valve upgrades? (Mk 1 Octavia vRS).

not sure about the mk1 but on the TFSI the original revision Diverter valves were a poor diaphragm design which was prone to tearing. VW released a newer D revision DV whihc was a piston style design and solved all issues and for only £50 instead of the £100 for the forge variant which is similar in design however requiring serving periodically

Thats a big fat yes for the MkI vRS, the standard Bosch DV was very prone to failure in standard cars never mind ones that have been remapped

Is there a way of telling which DV a TFSI has?

Not without visually inspecting it, and if you're going to that trouble, you might as well have the new version ready to fit and get it put on there. If yours in an 07, it's pretty much nailed on that it'll have an old one

Right, so any recommendations for a replacement? What to buy and who to fit it etc.?

For the 1.8t you want to be looking at a Forge 007P DV.

Cheers. Any recommendations for suppliers or fitters in the South?

Also, is that an atmospheric or recirculating DV?

Hi,

Sounds like you may not have installed the Driver.

When you plug the device into your computer and it asks for the Driver point it to the "C:\xconsole" directory, it should then install the correct driver and be available.

Or you can lift the drivers side of the car, remove the drivers side front wheel and wheel arch liner and do it that way. I did mine the undertray method though.
