Shark Performance STS group buy - get your FREE STS here

Seems like i will be in too, but just to clarify having read the last post, are you providing a standard stage 1map on the device that everyone will get, or will the map be different depending whether we want it for 98 ron fuel or 95 ron fuel?

Will the STS unit load the same map that you would offer at your workshop as a stage 1 map?

Does the STS unit have a warranty (i couldn't open the guide link provided earlier for some reason)

Thanks in advance.

Our Stage 1 software is happy to run on either however it would be best on 97+ RON. The STS will give you the same tuning as if you came to the workshop for a remap and so there's no down side

The link for the STS download should work now (we had hosting issues towards the back end of the week) and the STS is warranted for 12 months

Yes Tuesday would be fine, if you could give the office a call tomorrow then we'll arrange a time for Tuesday. Cheers :)

Stage 2 is no problem, I'm not sure why it's not on the website but I'll look into that.

Price is £299, bhp is 220-225

The STS is firmware updateable and so with the newest version of software, it's automatically updated to work with newer cars.

New maps can be sent to you via email, so once you have the STS it stays with you emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I'd really like to go this this but i'm currently having a few mpg probs so car is off to the dealers to be looked at in the next couple of weeks (as I only bought it 3 weeks ago). Are you at all likley to offer this group buy again because as soon as the problems are resolved and I have a stable platform in which to code my stage 1 map I would be very interested in going for this, only until it is resolved I don't really want to purchase it as I'm sure you'll understand.

What are the chances of me being able to order this in 4-8 weeks?

Can I also ask is it likely that a stage 1 will actually increase MPG as tbh i'm pretty appauled and what I am getting atm (circa 26.5mpg over a tank).

Is it possible to have an economy map for day to day driving (when I can't actually use 200bhp!) and a stage 1 map for spirited drives and track days?

  • Author

I'm afraid once the group buy is closed, you won't be able to order and get the STS for free. The only way to do that is to join this group buy. I would say it's highly unlikely that we'll ever run another offer like this to be honest.

Remapping a petrol car won't give the MPG gains that remapping a diesel can do, so I wouldn't bank on better MPG from the map although some people do report an increase in MPG. For the same reason there's no point in doing an "economy" and "power" map seperately as to be honest it doesn't work like that.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I can't commit to this until the car has been to Skoda, guess I'll have to look for other remapping options. Cheers anyway ;)

No need to look for other options.. just bring the car up to us instead

LOL, i'll certainly consider it but like the option of being able to change the map. As mentioned I don't need 240bhp day to day but would be nice to be able to apply the map for track days - it'll also help keep my car feeling fresh. Unfortunately I can't justify the price of the STS if I were to buy it standalone. I'll re-evaluate in a few weeks

Massive thumbup to Ben for sorting out my car today. Had an APR trial map which had left traces of code all over the ECU, and the flash memory was just full of sh*te!! Put the standard map back on, and the car is smooth as silk now. We even tried to disable the seatbelt warning via vcds, but the car wouldn't have it :dull:

Also gave me a sneaky demo of the stage 1 map. You guys won't be disappointed!!

Well this group buy looks to be going really well.. with two weeks to go I wonder if we can double the number of people on the list? :D

Feel free to tell friends and spread this across other forums that you might be members of, we're throwing the doors wide open on this one and remember that we don't just do VAG cars :)

Really tempted, nearly bought one during the christmas offer, but after getting a ticket Christams Eve at about 00.30 i was all out of christmas cheer.

Having a few DPF probs at the mo, need to take it for a good blow then maybe I'll be getting my freedom membership and giving you a bell!

I am Shark stage 1 and always average 35mpg doing drives down A and B roads. I get 40mpg on long motorway runs but it depends on what type of driving you do. If its local town driving then I see about 28 to 29 mpg. I would take this offer whilst its there. You can always keep it until the car is fixed and then put the remap on it.

No problem, get on board. This offer won't be run again (and it's better than the last one!).
