Those of you who are waiting for Freedom membership to become live, don't worry about it. I can check with the team whether or not you're a member and so if you've paid for membership but haven't gone live yet, you can still place your STS order with the discount in place.

I'm sure this offer has generated a few Freedom members and I know the system isn't working 100% smoothly at the moment, so that should take the pressure off somewhat :thumbup:

The STS is firmware updateable and so with the newest version of software, it's automatically updated to work with newer cars.

New maps can be sent to you via email, so once you have the STS it stays with you emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Would you be able to expand on this? Are you saying that if VAG decide to abandon Bosch and go with Maranelli for >50% of their fleet, you would be able to update the firmware to follow suite and offer new maps?

Will the older ECU/protocols still be supported and will the older maps for the older vehicles still be transferable (between ECU and STS).

Hope this makes sense?

That won't happen but VAG already use Marelli for some cars (not many) and Siemens, as well as Bosch. But yes the STS firmware would keep up to date once the protocols for reading and writing had been mastered.

Old protocols will stay intact and so it will also be backwards compatible.
