id be intestwant a pair too... Though VCDS recoding would be tricky for me

Well, they are 'CANbus friendly' so don't throw up a warning light, so you don't HAVE to recode with VCDS...

Anyway, I will PM those in this thread who have expressed an interest - soon as I get a reply from the wholesaler. I'm not sure if they are working today, so it may not be for a few days, but I promise that I won't forget.

What an improvement! I received my 'Hauptmann' LED's this morning, once I finish nights they will be getting installed.

Fitted mine today, what can I say, excellent - they are actually white and not pale blue like most of the others I have seen.

Time for the HIDs I think ........

Thanks Hauptmann - very efficient service!

Did mine today also they look excellent cheers mate

Any of these still going? I'd also be interested in a pair.

Yes, I've got a few sets coming next week to fulfill some earlier requests. I should be able to sort you out. I'll PM you.

Me too, I have sent a pm

And if you have any more I'd take a set to go with the 50w HID's I have awaiting fitting

Look good. I have a set on the way

Thats excellent info, out of interest what about if you fit the 50w HID's?

Did you ever get an answer - haven't got mine fitted yet so wondering whether to get the coding done first...

I haven't had a definative answer, but thinking about it, if the recoding tells the CANbus there is a 35w HID then will it work if you fit a 50w?? Honestly, I'm not sure that it would, personally if I had gone for the 50w kit, it would of been a Canbus friendly type. The problem is, as Hauptmann has explained a halogen bulb is 55w so if you just fit a 35w HID kit, the CANbus will think there is a bulb failure, but when controller 9 is recoded to 'Xenons without shutters' it sets the system up as if OE xenons are fitted (I think) as they are 35w! If this is the case, logic would suggest that with a 50w kit fitted even after the recoding there would still be a problem due to the extra current required.

Unfortunately I'm no auto-electrician so the above may be cods-wallop. :giggle:

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Don't code for xenons and then turn off bulb diagnostics?

I'll be honest though, I think you'll be better and safer with the 35w kit :)

I have a 35W HID kit and have never needed to recode it at all it just works with no errors.

Hmmm... But they are already sat in the boot waiting for me to find the time...

Decisions, decision - what do I do? - guess I could just fit them and see what happens... if they turn off or flash then I take them out?

Harry, is your kit a CANbus friendly type?

Oh and I fitted my 'Hauptmann' supplied LED's today, amazing difference, well happy.
