Those alloys above are BY FAR the best ones on this thread.

Where might I enquire as to the cost of said 'vmr' alloys?

Looking at around £1300-1400 for 19's

Or contact Niche Conversions and see if they can get the gunmetals

Or if you check out Awesome GTi, you could look at Neuspeed RSe14s

Tried wringing some discount out of them today, but they wouldn't have any of it :'(

would 19's be too much on the octavia (though the golf has 19's)

actually from niche conversions they have the matt black and gun metal......rather tempting........must sell organs :giggle:

have to say I'm think gun metal or matt black would look rather good on a white combi :)

In 18" maybe, haven't found 19s at that price

not too sure but

if you look on the nicheconversions website it lists 8.5 x 18 and 8.5 x 19 both as £999

or is it me ???

19's are about £100 more plus delivery (wheels only)

19s won't look that big. They do look awesome though!

19s as a 'show' wheel maybe, but I personally wouldn't want to be running round on them.

18s at £999 sounds like a decent deal to me. How heavy are they?

Post a side-on shot of your car, similar to the Black combi already posted and I'm sure something can be arranged...

^ how much are a set of those then? ..and how does that compare with the TSWs?

Having taken another look I think the TSW's are so close to the VMRs you probaly wouldn't be able to tell them apart without checking the centre cap. Are these significantly cheaper? Any idea on weight?

photoshop - yep as wardy says, just post a "profile" pic of the car you have and a pic of the wheel you want from the same angle and its only a 30 sec job to combine them in paintshop. HTH.

I think you need to stop buying all these random 18s and just invest in a killer set of 19s that you'll be happy with for longer.

ok, just done some research:

The nurburgring is available in 19x8 et 45 which is just about the perfect size for a vrs - inner clearance would be the same and it would only extend an extra 12mm. That should fill the arch nicely but not be too much to cause rubbing.

I also googled for the weight - if the info i have is right then [a 19x8.5] 18lbs so about 8kg. Compared to an OE wheel at about 12kg that's a massive saving in unsprung weight.

If the tsw blurb can be believed regarding their "near forged strength" then this looks to be a fantastic choice for a vrs.

Matte gunmetal

Would a 19" wheel fit with your car being so low Rob?

Also, ok to drop you a PM? Considering going with the weitecs and some advice as well as perhaps some goading!

With a 225/35 19 tyre the physical dimensions overall should be the same as the OE 225/40 18s so yes they should fit fine, and only 0.5% difference in rolling radius so speedo is still correct too. The good thing with those tsw's is they come in 8" width at an appropriate offset, where the VMR is only available in 8.5".

I'd decided some time back to stop modding my car, but now brimma's got me thinking again (******!).

No problem to PM re the weitecs - I consider you very polite for asking for permission first :giggle:

This one belongs to Mudley...
