Order Times, Build Times, Delays, The Skoda Black Hole Ordering System

Featured Replies

I'd like to take back anything negative I said about Skoda in previous posts in this topic.

My Monte Carlo was built week 46 and arrived at Grimsby this morning. I have been told that the wait til I am in ownership of the car is now around 10 days. If I am able to pick it up next weekend like the dealership reckons I can it will only be 12 weeks from ordering to collecting.

Rather damn excited now!!

It does look like vRS's have much longer waiting times :(

But then the best things in life are worth waiting for Jabo? I know it was the case for me  absolutely LOVE my vRS and only 300 miles in!!

I knew you would, Didn't you pick it up like Saturday> And already 300 miles! Lol - that's dedication! How's your running in going? Took her to redline yet?

I remeber I almost shat myself when I did it for the first time - vicious compared to 520d or my Lupo LOL.

I picked it up last friday and drove 138 miles in the first day :D I live In shropshire and had to pick it up from Doncaster.. Superb first drive back on motorway and headed off track on some very fun B roads!

I think my running in is going well so far.. not wanted to check the oil dipper yet. Will check when I give her the full cleaning works at the weekend and hopefully set me up for a good review thread. I only live 2 miles from work so i've been going out of my way on a 10 mile trip to get it warm/hot especially on run in. I've not taken it to redline yet.. surprised myself last night though when I pushed too far and hit the kick down! 6th to 2nd gear in an instant is just mind boggling!

Let's just hope we will not end up towing oil tankers like plenty of peeps here...

Does it have the new skoda badges and the new stearing wheel?

Snowman89 - no changes to badges or steering wheel.

Waiting times for the red/black Monte Carlo are lengthy right now but my dealer thinks he can source one for delivery in about a month. Not fussed if I have to wait but the first place I went wouldn't entertain anything less than 3 months. I'm putting that down to that dealer though - better experience with the dealer I'm buying from. No accessories - 105ps standard spec. Only thing they're adding is a spare instead of a tyre repair kit.

Our white MC TSI 86 with esp+, cruise and light washers, was quoted at 14 weeks delivery from order. Arrived at the UK port this Thursday just gone, in slightly less than 9 weeks. Hope to have her on the drive in 10.

Dealer has just informed me that my car is being built and that he expects me to get it either later this month or early next month. Even if its mid January (taking any Christmas-related delays into account), that's still only 6 weeks or so from ordering it to getting it. Anything before late January is great.

Looks like waiting times are getting down - they must have ramped up the production lines.

Skoda must have really increased production as orders have increased for the demand of 'Airbags' for most of the Skoda range.

:whew: Long wait is over! You are going to love it!

I picked it up yesterday and i must say i really love it :) I still havent realized that its mine :D Im just waiting for someone to come and collect it like it would be a rental car.. :D

Don't look at it. Drive it!

Just had the call from our dealer to confirm collection Friday; exactly 10 weeks from order :)

That's about 4-5 weeks earlier than originally advised it would be, by all the dealers I enquired with before placing the order.

Glad collection is not today; snowing 'cats and dogs' here  and I wouldn't fancy a drive on new summer sports tyres in this weather

Amazing speed ! What is the model and spec of your fabia?

If there is no sheet/black ice and you are able to anticipate moronism of other road users as well as driwing slow ans sensible yourself you should be jus about fine. We had some light sprinkling of snow in South East Anglia this morning - most roads were just wet but people still drove 15 mph in 60 nsl roads...

A white Monte Carlo 1.2TSI 86 with ESP+, Cruise, Light washers and a 5 year warranty.

Although yet to see the car to confirm they have built her to spec (had that issue before ), as the dealer is not my most local; about 70 miles away.

Snow now petered out, sun is shining and it's all starting to melt thankfully; good day be be off work, drive across the Wolds to York can be a nightmare in these conditions, even with a 4x4 Yeti running winters.

Will post pics when we have the car home, although she should not be particularly showroom looking, asked the dealer to leave polishing to me, albit I'm no detailer but of late I've noticed the dealers (in general) are getting worse at leaving scratches in the paint on PDI. Will also apply a lifeshine sealing kit to start.

Ordered mine October 15th, build date confirmed December 10th (Week 50) - I have been advised I should be looking at getting the car January 10th.

Fabia vRS, Black, Dark Chrome alloys, Rear Parking sensors, Satnav display unit, MFSW with Bluetooth. To say I can't wait is an understatement..!

Just been told that my car was built on December 5th but my dealer didn't have a delivery date yet. I know I'm not getting it before Christmas as it'll be about a fortnight from reaching the UK to reaching them. Won't get my hopes up for the Christmas week but it should be here for the first or 2nd week of January at the latest.

Hey that sounds exactly the same as the "spare" car in the system for delivery at that time that I just bought on Friday!!

Was informed by my lease company car ordered November 10th scout 105 tdi with sat nav, climate, headlight washers, parking sensors, mdi, storage bins is being built week 3 and due for delivery mid to late feb, I'm hoping it gets delayed so I get a 13 plate now

My replacement VRS is apparenty being built wk4, so should expect it at dealer late-feb.

May just ask them to delay reg until March to get 13-plate.....

Same as my current one anyway, so in no rush!!

Andy

Just had a call from skoda dealer in crewe and my car is build and waiting at the shipping yard to be shipped here
