I'm also quite happy to report that, although my DPF issues havent gone away, since my full tank including a bottle of JLM DPF cleaner my problems seem to have settled (although not gone away complete

  • Yep, that's pretty much what the previous 769 posts alluded to too Glad you got it sorted, it's just a shame you hadn't seen this thread earlier and avoided a breakdown on the motorway. I wonder ho

I had to get towed by Howley Quay into Warrington. I broke down 8 miles from the place and it was £102.70 to get towed :-( Although, Skoda are paying the bill

Could have been you he was on about, he works for howley. Tall lad with dark hair

Car is now booked in with MK SEAT on 10th November (First time they could give me a hire car)

Sounds like him. Ask him if he dropped it off at warrington skoda. It was about 08:30 in the morning.

Yeah it was my mate that picked you up lol.. Just text me back this morning.

Hehehe, Did he tell you about my drop of my mobile phone in his truck's cab. Couldn't find it for ages. I felt a right plonker.

Ah thought it might have been last week.. My mate picked a vRS up on m6 for injector fail in outside lane.. Wondering if it may have been you.. Mines going in today to get sorted :)

Have you got yours back yet Davey_vRS? It really feels like a different car doesn't it.

Just spent about an hour and a half reading the thread front to back, THANKYOU to whoever decided to keep the thread open, I would have had no idea about this otherwise. GREAT JOB EVERYONE for sorting out VOSA and VAG. My car is a September 58 plate pd170 - When it works I love it. I'm guessing it will probably have the dodgy injectors but I'm still a bit confused as to whether it is only certain batch numbers or indeed every PD170 that needs to be recalled. To tell the truth I'm actually a bit scared as I have to cross two lanes of a really fast crossroads every day for work and I'm just thinking how many times I could have come a cropper in front of something like an artic if it had stopped across the dual carriageway. Not nice.

So I think I will contact my dealer and see if they can give me some advice, I have had a lot of things go wrong over the years so I am seriously thinking I will go japanese with a Honda Civic type R or something similar in the future. Regardless how much you like something and how much brand loyalty you have, if you cant trust your motor to get you where you want to go safely, and it gives you loads of niggly problems, it just isnt worth the hassle. Skoda UK please note.

Yes I know the Civic Type R is a not that fantastic, dont flame, but call me old fashioned, I just want it to work and give me reliability!

has anyone seen the new price for an injector? £118.20 + vat now, wonder why that is!

Haha! I'll ask him about it later.. Going for a few drinks.. Yeah got my car back, does actually feel better, more responsive and power feels a tad stronger

I know what you mean. Certainly pulls well after the injector replacement. Hard to discribe, just feels more solid if that makes sense.

Yeah yeah I've got no worries about giving it any stick now.. Mates just been telling me now about your phone incident, trying to get back in the truck while he started pulling off haha!

It was a funny moment. Well for him anyway :-) All I can say is, it had been a hell of a couple of weeks. Have a good one.

Lol.. He just laughed when I read this out to him.. And you pal take it easy

Any late 58' plate 170pd's had the injectors go?

Mines a 58 Leon, Not had any go but SEAT UK confirmed mine does have the faulty batch ones installed

I raised a case with Skoda Uk for my July 2008 Vrs PD. They booked the car in to my local dealer for a 'check'. The check obviously came back clear, roadtest was OK & the computer showed no faults. The dealer stated that that was the end of it, no further action to take.

Should I accept that, or should I whinge Skoda Uk into submission?! Sounds like action is not taken as a matter of course.

Contact Skoda UK... tke contact was Dan Latta. the stance was even if your showing no faults, they will still change them at your request. Look back a few pages, you will see a copy of an email from Dan Latta containing all the info you should need. My dealer l used didn't have a clue about this issue.

My local dealer also gave me the brush off. Annoyingly so did Skoda Customer Care.

I then spoke to VOSA who contacted Skoda and hey presto, a call from Dan apologising and offering to replace the injectors FOC.

Put yourself in their position. There is no official recall (yet) so if they can avoid paying out they will. It's only if you persist and follow the correct procedure will they offer to do the work.

If you can't get to speak to Dan then phone VOSA instead.

Just had the injectors and loom replaced FOC on both my sons leon fr and my octy vrs at their respective agents ,they are even going to pay me for the injector i have already had replaced , both cars running well with no DPF issues at the moment .

I originally contacted Simon Ackroyd who set all this up for me and everything went smoothly and was well organised , BIG well done to him .

Thanks to jfarhead and the others on this forum for the info that triggered all this .

Been running the Octy for a few days now and have seen the highest numbers ever on the mpg readout , cruising 55 -60 its reading 68mpg avg , highest i ever saw before was 56mpg , car also feels smoother with more low down grunt , i will put my Shark map back on at weekend and see how it feels .

Had the injectors and loom changed on my octy vrs. Car seems a bit smother as well and defo fuel consumption seems better :) . Even had a phone call from Dan at Skoda UK today to ask if I was now happy with my car now. I have to say that Skoda UK have been brilliant, I had to be a bit firm at the start but part from that  to Skoda. Restored my faith and proved why they rate highly in customer satisfaction. :)

Skoda do infact deserve a big thumbs up for their customer service but let us not forget if it wasn't for the intervention of VOSA then Skoda would no doubt be telling us where to stick our injectors!

Fair point. :thumbup:for VOSA as well :D

wow what a thread

Sadly though i was too late me injectors failed last sunday on the way home from work resulting in total loss of power at 50 mph! luckly the roads were quite and i managed to come to a controlled stop!!! it then took 5 mins to get started and got me home!

but on monday morning the was no life in her i got a tow from a friend to my local garage (main dealer is over 20 miles away) where he said that one injector was gone and would cost £400+ vat but he recommened all 4 @ £1000 am glad i got all 4 done and she comes back tommorrow

i am now hoping that i can get a refund but how should i contact? both vosa and skoda?

Has anyone else got a refund from work done at an indy?

hope everyone else gets theres done before its too late as it pretty scary!! am lucky as id just got off the motorway. for a couple of months running up to the fault i kept getting dpf light faults weekly and flat spots on acceleration.

thanks to everyone for there posts and hard work in getting this sorted, hopefully a full national total recall will be issued before someone is hurt!!

Your going to be lucky if they give you anything TBH its hard enough getting the refund if VAG UK have done it, BTW the injectors are like 100+ each now not 400!
