I'm also quite happy to report that, although my DPF issues havent gone away, since my full tank including a bottle of JLM DPF cleaner my problems seem to have settled (although not gone away complete

  • Yep, that's pretty much what the previous 769 posts alluded to too Glad you got it sorted, it's just a shame you hadn't seen this thread earlier and avoided a breakdown on the motorway. I wonder ho

My wifes Seat Altea FR Tdi certainly goes into regen more often following the injector change. No idea why.

No problems here after Injector + Look but..... i haven’t got a DPF

No problems before or after.. But i wouldn't know what to expect regarding regen .. Never had any dash lights etc..

Cheers AndrewJB for the info on the 58 plate Seat. I thought I would escape this with my 58 plate Octavia, but contacted my dealer who inturn called Skoda UK for me and I have 4 new injectors and a loom ready to be fitted for free. Result! So many thanks to you!

Had mine fitted for over a month now and done almost 3,000 miles, no DPF issues...

My Octy and my sons Leon were both done in the last month , there have been no problems with DPF , the only noticable difference is that both cars feel smoother and are more economical, the computer readout is giving me figures of 68 mpg avg when cruising around 60 mph .

Having my VRS looked at tomorrow to see if my injectors need replacing or not. Will keep you informed....

Remember whether they need replacing or not you can insist on them being replaced free of charge.

Yes will certainly insist, although i don’t think it will be easy, they don’t seem very helpful, we shall find out tomorrow.....

If you get no joy at the dealer, talk to Skoda UK, Dan Latta is the man to talk to, just say your not happy that you may have injector failure in the future and that you might talk to VOSA regarding this issue, they'll fit new ones then.

Good luck

Kind of, yes. When i first got the car back the DPF light came on twice in about a week (it had never came on in the 10 months previous), and it seemed to keep doing regens.

It does seem to have calmed down a bit now though. Also, i havent noticed any improvement in the running of the car. It has always ran pretty well to be fair.

well ive dropped my vrs off at the dealers and i will pick it up tomorrow, all they have said is, they will check the injectors to see what type they are {there are two types of injector} and if they are the ones that need changing then they will change them....

If I was you I'd ring Dan at Skoda tomorrow morning (08457 745745) and let him know that your vRS is already in at the dealers being checked, he can then have a quick word with the dealers and put them straight.

I had a similar problem, you can't really blame the dealer as the only information they have is what is on their system, and that is to check the part numbers and report back to Skoda. My dealer wanted to charge me half an hours labour to do the check, a two minute phone call to Dan soon meant that the injectors were replaced with no charge!

Bloomin Farmers Skoda ordered the wrong injectors, they cant get me back in until Tuesday....great weekend drive im going to have to Somerset :wonder:

Well the dealer has just spoke to me to say that my injectors are fine so they will not be replacing them. I am going to speak to Dan Latta to re-confirm this as the dealer is really not that helpful...

Happy days picked car back up today and drives very nicely! Shame the dealer is trying to skin me for an exhaust manifold because of a small sweat?!? Whatever that is. Parts 470 ish. Plus vat plus labour! Surely cheaper to have a dpf delete and the bits or am I wrong? Cheers. Dave. Have I not given them enough free work!! I'm scotland based.

Just had my new injectors and loom fitted to 58' plate 170pd.

I might be going mad but seems a little different.

My car was always very unrefined but it was bloody good "kick in the back" fun.

First impressions:

So, It seems a bit quieter, smoother, didn't seem to have the same ooomph or response in 4th (always a favourite) but dropped it down a gear and was upto 70mph before I knew it. Im hoping they just need to bed in.

I'm wondering if the ECU needs to re-learn my driving style again...I guess they might have tweaked a couple of things. Would be interested if others feel a difference in performance?

Oh, and STUDMUFFIN to confirm what others have said, my skoda contact told me there was an e-mail sent today to dealers from Skoda UK to say they would replace anyones injectors if they wanted it. They also mentioned it would be an opportunity to build up customer relations with people they might not have seen for a while. :)

I've just picked my VRS up from the dealer after having my injectors replaced and yes it does feel a lot quicker than it used to {or is it the fact I've just got out of their 60bhp fabia courtesy car} that makes my vrs feel a lot quicker than it used to be !

I didn't notice any increase in performance but I did see a welcome decrease in fuel consumption

Mine is already showing49-50 mpg round town. It's never done that before. Could get 38-40 if I tried really hard then obviously dpf ! Just shows how bad the injectors really were!

Ere we go....I've now got the dreaded dpf light on....

Had Skoda VRS Diesel estate from new registered Feb'07. Had numerous problems over the years normally preceded by intermittent failures and dealer incompetence. Having said that when it works well it's a delight to drive.

incorrectly fitted Turbo, Particulate filter, injectors on 2 separate occaisions, aircon compresser, new battery. good service history. it's a shame main dealer's mechanics are not allowed to use initiative as they have to follow Skoda mantra. If they dont they risk penalties.

i have had my share of engine management lights flashing, safe engine mode, poor performance. Mileage now 129,001

My PD Vrs is in next tuesday to see if the Injectors need replacing. Had a long chat with a chap from Skoda Customer services.

He was saying the fault has affected about 3000 cars and the fault was oil getting into the Injectors and sensors picking this up and turned them off.

True or not I don't know but he was very helpfull. All dealers recieved an e-mail today about this and customers should be getting a letter from Skoda through the post, says my dealer

According to my dealer it only affects certain Engine codes around about 07/08 plate motors

Hope that Helps
