I know its good stuff, but there's no way i can justify the cost involved.

Over to Colin then..............regarding the mini- starter pack.

SWMBO would blow all her fuses if I forked out

Ditto over here - and I'd fully agree. Plus I'm lousy at keeping my car clean anyway.

So bucket of water and a sponge it is...

Denis, to digress re landing on the wrong runway.

We do a bit of Ballooning & a few years ago we flew out of Salisbury & found ourselves on a direct line for Boscombe Down, you know the top secret fighter pilot training & research base. So called them up on the radio several times & no reply so decision taken rightly or wrongly, no one flying (it was a Sunday) so we would overfly. About 20 mins later we found ourselves on a line dead centre of the main runway with about 10 mins untill we would get there & the weather didnt look that good so thought we would radio for permission to land, again silence so decision taken, "what the heck" well land anyway so flew over all the security fences etc & touched dead centre of the main runway before drifting onto the grass.

Well top secret military base, the first they knew of us was when Wendy arrived at the gate & asked if she could pick us up, obviously hadnt spotted an 80 foot high balloon, probably 100 feet agl when we crossed the fences.

Lots of red faced MOD police running around & a mountain of paper later we left

Nice one, Stuart! When I was based at RAF Gatow in West Berlin, an East German-registered light aircraft landed on the airfield one Sunday morning unannounced with 2 East Germans defecting to the West. The pilot had only just qualified to fly solo and had flown a circuit at his home airfield which was nearby in East Germany, landed and taxied to a quiet spot to pick up a relative, and then promptly flown over the wall into RAF Gatow. It all adds a bit of excitement to an otherwise humdrum life.

(All the secret stuff at Boscombe Down would have been safely locked away for the weekend).

No, the

Denis,

Also Flew Salisbury plain once when they were testing top secret un manned surveilance planes. The ranges were officially closed so the Royal Artillery gave us permission to fly the Plain as we had done many times. No height restrictions, no fences & all the cattle are deaf, great for ballooning. It apparently was so secret that nobody apart from the people at the top knew about it & it had been timed to coincide with the plain being closed. Just after we landed we were greeted by some orificer with loads of metal on his shoulders asking us what the ***** we were doing etc etc, aparently we were quite lucky not to have been hit, still it all sorted itself out.

Oh & the rule if you land in the bombard area is to send one person from the balloon to get help, if you here a bang you send the next person.

Should we start a new thread "flying stories ???"

If we did I'm sure we would get lots of war stories from the 'Sumpbusters' - that select band who swoop and soar at speed in the Lake District etc, putting sheep and stone walls at risk. :D

And to bring it back on topic... Howard got in touch with Mark and we are both going to have our cars Swissolled by Mark next Sunday. We'll be sure to take loads and loads of pictures :D

Q.

Oh, and pray for the weather gods to keep it dry on the day ;)

Quinten

SORRY I drifted slightly off topic, well quite a bit really !!!!

Glad to hear you have elected to go for Marks "Full Monty" treatment, you wont be disapointed. Give him my regards when you see him

Stuart

Q - what does this treatment cost, if I may be so bold?

is this swissol stuff any good on new cars or just to refurb a tired one?

My guess is it's much better for new cars - it's just wax, after all .... the condition of the paint underneath will be a big factor in the finish obtained.

Nick, I'm not sure if Mark likes to have these things in the open, so I've PM-ed you.

And it works as well on old as on new cars. You have seen the pictures of the G-reg porker ? Amazing...

I think the point of Mark's full monty is that he preps the paint before waxing - removing small scratches, swirls etc. as well as dull spots before applying the wax.

It ain't cheap, but I'm hoping it will do the trick.

Like Q says, pics before and after, post session on Sunday.

Cheers,

Howard

ffelan

Swissol do a treatment for new cars which comes complete with a certificate, suggest you contact Mark direct for prices etc

Quientin / Fen_l&k Ask Mark to demonstrate multiclean to you, its his own little recipe, far better than Gunk etc & watered down is a fantastic cleaner in the Kitchen, When you see what he charges for it & compare it to the costs of Gunk & Mr Muscle you may just be interested.

But Stuart, the kitchen is the domain of mrs Q... I don't have a problem with her having a hard time scrubbing things down ;)

Q.

Thanks.

Adrian.

Q

Adrian, YGPM

Stuart, I'll see what Mark has on offer... But what will mrs Q say if I buy cleaning products for her? It's not exactly the same as a bunch of flowers is it? :D

Thanks Q.

Possibly this could be another group buy thing i.e. valet as opposed to kits.

Hmmmm........how is the kit discount coming laong Colin?

Cheers.

Adrian.

Now here's a thought...

What about a link up with the meet in September?

Everyone would get a chance to meet Mark, see the results, maybe try it out or buy kits etc. The date's far enough in advance and Mark may be up for it if it means some business for him.

Like I said, just a thought...

I'd certainly be interested to see the Swissol results in person. I am planning to come to this Sept meet, wherever it ends up being held?

Is Bruntingthorpe still on the cards??? I've heard nothing for a few weeks about this now.
