Paying £123 per month on a multicar policy for a 3ltr V6 Ford Maverick and 1.6 Fabia Monte Carlo 105bhp. I'm not sure what they are split up, as Admiral seem to lack the braincells to find out where the breakdown of my premium is but I believe the Maverick is around £80 per month making mine around £43 per month with 5 years NCB, no points or claims etc.

I'm 22 and my partner is 30

I'm 36. Monte 1.6 CR TDI.

One thing I'd say - Admiral (in my experience) are only cheap for a year, they tend to get you at renewal time.

I can't remember what I pay (£300 ish), but tips to keep it down:

1. Shop around - run your details through more than one comparison website.

2. Go direct to the cheapest quotes on the comparison sites.

3. Add someone else - you're driving it less, especially good if they are a "sensible" driver. Play with the options - add your wife/girlfriend/Mum/Dad. Some variables will work out, others not so well.

4. Try and get the car on a driveway or in a garage (obviously not always possible).

5. Postcode is king - I move around a lot and I have, in the last year, paid an increase after moving, then another to move back to a similar area, but crucially the difference between SP/SN/SO postcodes was interesting...

I'm 43, and it costs me £430 to insure, but then I teach people to drive in it so thats anyone to drive including provisional liscence holders ect , under 17's off road, and full profession indemnity, insured to drive other cars, my body is insured (x ammount of I loose an eye ect ) , business insurance for my "proper" job (ambulance service) so fully loaded. They didn't increase my insurance for the eibachs..... (but then I remapped a previous car, and they didn't increase my premium for that either!)

I'm liking the cost for the younger people I paid £2000 when I had a fiat uno turbo (my first performance car) when I was 21!

pulsar: instructorcoverplus..... there are only about 10 companies that insure for instruction, and only 2 that I have found that insure the fabia II vRS (group 29!) most only go up to group 25 for us..... every time I try to renew, almost EVERY one except 2 say "we dont insure that car for what you want to do, its too high an insurance group" :(

Really wierd one BTW - driveway is higher risk than parked on the road (as they know which house to break into to get the keys...apparently).

For a few years now, driveways overnight have not automatically been cheaper than parked on the road.

Postcode and vehicle type/value matters obviously.

Secure carparking at Work, or College, daytime not always better than on the road.

I get better/lower online quotes for Parked on Road, than On Drive for ordinary cars

All those Range Rover & Porsche & Nissan Micra parked on drives that end with huge claims,

compared to the Nissan Micra parked on the road.

(many claims are not only Theft & Accident on Roads.

Flood, Storm Damage,/Fallen Trees. Vandalism etc can all add up and may be higher claims when parked off the Public Highway. , set against better security or not on a driveway.)

Amazing how many homes in Aberdeen now have Secure Barriers being installed to stop their Audi, BMW, Merc etc disappearing by the youngsters that were taking them so easily.

(Young Persons in a household that do not yet have Driving Licences can also effect the Insurance Policy cost to parents.)

46 years young. Fabia vrs pay £420 insurance . Business use protected no claims all the bells and whistles. Was paying £700 for my 407 2.2 sw with no extras.

Daughters 23 just got her fabia vrs 13 plate costs £450 for her and her partner.

28 yrs old, just bought fabia vrs mkii (13 plate). £340 insurance and according to that postcode website I live in a "D" risk postcode :-/

This is with 0 years no claims bonus (was named driver on SWMBO policy) and an Admiral multi car discount.

Edit: the cost of the policy was reduced by £100 by having SWMBO on the policy as a named driver... Worth thinking about if you have a missus with more yrs on her license!
