How Fast are Briskoda?

Featured Replies

yep the guy i've been dealing with is Nick Rice and he is in charge of car track days

I called him on the number on his email (which is now at work) but I assume 0843 453 3000 and option 1 for car events.

Mention the 10am "Briskoda How Fast Event" on May 7th and he should be able to book you in.

He is holding the session for us until close of play Friday 3rd Feb; which is ideal as there's a weekend and a payday before then!

If Briskoda haven't sold all 18 places by then he will have to open it up for sale to the general public.

Get your credit cards out people and make this an awesome day!

Yes I know Nick Rice, have dealt with him before.

Better get on the phone in the morning!

Nice work Pasty. (as usual) B)

When people have booked I'd advise starting a second list so we know how close to filling the 18 spaces we are. We could always go into the next time slot if it's very popular... (as you said)

yep new list will begin once people start confirming they have booked.

One thing Nick did mention that was Bedford does have a relatively strict noise restriction

101db at a standstill and 87.5db drive by.

Pretty sure thats the same as Castle Combe so those who have done sessions in the past should be fine.

A final disclaimer on my part

Be aware that while we have used Briskoda to organise the event you are booking yourself into an event run and managed externally.

Said external agent is doing everything possible to help us have a Briskoda only session but should we not claim the all 18 places you will still be expected to attend and take part with members of the general public; or I guess you could back out and see if MSV will refund you but on your own back be it.

awesome

gives me a date to get the car ready by!!!

the noise limit is going to be my biggest issue lol screamer pipe will have to be re-done into exhaust lol

also will need to source a bolt on muffler for the day ;-)

p.s im going to trailer the car there its easyier i can bring the misses then as she wont get in this one lol

I'll be all over this one lads :D

Even if you are up against a 148mph Fabia, and one with no brakes?

Sorry, tried to resist :(

I think you've been successfully trolled. :giggle:

How about we keep at least one thread sensible?

+1

Brimma don't rise to it (or rise elsewhere at least!)

Please give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that if they do attend this event they'll turn up as normal human beings rather than themselves ;)

I'm booked in! :D

Out of the initial 30-odd that showed an interest I believe one or two may be concerned about being on track with certain other member(s).

May I just remind you that this is a professional event run and marshalled by MSV on a 1.8 mile track that will have a maximum of about 20 cars with a full hour practice (during which people will be on and off, so most of the time there will be less cars).

There will be plenty of space for everyone and if you don't like the particular car baring down on you simple track etiquette means you move over and let the faster car pass, which it will... safely... and then you probably won't see it again as it takes absolutely ages to lap anyone.

This is a day out to have fun.

I have no issues taking my pride and joy out there with anyone off the original list of 30-odd.

Put simple, anyone coocking around will be banned from the event immediately. It's that simple.

You might have to just let xa0sx on the track on his own :giggle:

In the words and spirit of BossFox:

I assume most decent people go along with the gentlemans agreement of if you brake it you fix it in the absence of any track insurance?

I hope there wont be anyone being a first class **** but it seems like some people have a reputation. I dont know them so cant comment if its deserved or just banter :D

Hopefully if someone is making someones elses day unenjoyable they will at least listen to their concerns and do something about it

Come on people sign up for a great day out B) (might be my last one for a long time :( )

There won't be any idiots on track!!!

Any one that don't follow the rules will be asked to politley feck off. If you wanna race your mates go get a race ticket and entre a race series simple as that

Exactly. That's why the timed part you are on the track alone.

Otherwise MSV will remove you.

Looks like there is a few with stage fright now ;)

oh if only I still had the octy ;)

and the 4 part worn corsa's... don't think the old superb liner on that track is going to be that competitive ;)

Maybe on Llandow or some off shore race

This could be a very good laugh, to spice it up I'll throw in some prizes, if thats allowed ;)

IF you need anything else, get in touch.

Tagging thread for updates :)

At this rate you might need to put a circular email out ot all registered Brisky members Colin.

Despite the initial interest, the number of people signing on has quite frankly been dissapointing.

I hope any plans for the 2012 big Brisky meet go better.

Two more days and MSV will open it up to non-Skodas. :(
