One Fabia VRS and One Octavia VRS at our house, reason we got the Fabia was because SWMBO had a MY 07 Corsa and it was Crap, my Son had the Fabia VRS and was 100% better, so we bought one, I had a Impreza Turbo that was rotten underneath, so opted for the Octavia CR for fuel consumption.

56 plate Fabia VRS

58 plate Octavia VRS

Very Happy with both and fantastic fuel consumption.

    And I counter your 8 with a wider spread of 8 for my family................... 1968 1000 MB, 1972 S1100L, 1999 Feli 1.9D, 2 x 2000 Feli LXi's, 2003 Fabia 1.4Mpi Silverline, 2002 Octy Vrs, 2002 Octy

If you count current cars:

Fabia vRS Mk1 (1/9/05 to 6/07)

Fabia II Sport (Stolen 29/1/10)

Fabia II Sport (1/3/10 to 21/11/10)

Fabia II vRs (21/11/10 to present)

Octania vRS (1/3/10 to present)

Also- 'lesser' Skodas? Are we somehow inferior..?

I think not!

Those in the know know that Laurent and Klement is the Skoda premier sub-marque.

VRS is in reality a luke warm hatch option (in std form compared to the Cupra R, S3, Golf R etc) or tepid in the case of the diesels.

Think I would go for the Superb 3.6 litre if I was after performance and was going to have a Skoda though a remapped 1.8 TSI making 220 hp and screaming to 7K revs through a 7 speed DSG sounds best for a front wheel drive only car.

Octavia L&K, by pure chance. Was enthusiastic about the Skoda marque several years ago and got the opportunity to obtain this car a couple of weeks ago. It needs a fair bit of work but it's a very nice car to drive.

p.s. Voted under 'all the rest'.

No.

No VRs's here - just a Fabia TDi Comfort and a Octy II 4x4.

The Fabia was bought to replace a very ageing Mitsubishi Colt and at the time my wife was commuting from Sheffield to Alderley Edge so we wanted relative comfort, reliability and good mileage which the Fabia delivered easily compared to anythng else on the market at the time. It's still going strong but doesn;t do 450 miles a week now as I use it for work.

The Octavia was bought because when our second daughter arrived and the rear facing car seat was tricky to fit behind me in the drivers seat of the Fabia so we wanted something bigger. The 4x4 bit was for the extra security for my wifes commute across the Pennines in bad weather.

I had my mk1 octy vrs for 2 years then sold my house & released some cash & treated myself to a 2 year old octy vrs,i like the look of the vrs & the performance of course! :D The octy ticks all the boxes for my car needs at the moment.

4 fabia's - 1.4comfort , 2.0 elegance, 1.4 bohemia, 1.9tdi level 3... lol

surprised why I haven't had a vRS yet!!!

The VRS is a hot hatch, just like the Golf GTI, Focus ST, Leon FR etc of the same vintage.

Cupra R, S3, Golf R, Focus RS, etc are uber hatches.

2.0 Fabia is quite a rare beast. How did it go?

2.0 Fabia is quite a rare beast. How did it go?

was pokey, easy to drive, it was 115bhp 8v so it had more low down grunt than outright speed, but in a little car it was good fun...others will say the 2.0 was the KING! haha.... old story!

but I loved mine :)

Like a king!

Mustang....

haha....He did ask though! :p

There was no vRS TDi when I bought my Elegance. One of my colleagues had a vRS 1.8T and it did about half the mpg, without being much faster in the 30 to 70 range where we both spend most of our time.

MK1 Fabia vRS

MK2 Fabia vRS Estate

Parents have a Yeti 1.8TFSI Elegance 4x4 and previously they had a MK1 fabia vRS and MK2 Octavia Elegance Estate PD140.

Introduced them to Skoda when the Discovery TD5 they had ripped through its return water pump with the pulley seizing the engine and frying the ECU whilst doing 60mph on a dual carriageway.

I had a Seat Ibiza TDI Sport at the time and they liked the engine but wanted more doors and less chavvy looking car :D

Like a king!

Mustang....

Bring back Mil

Have to say there are days when i miss our 2.0 Fabia, was just a nice easy drive.

Skoda's weve had,

Brand new Fabia 1.9 tdi Elegance,

Felica 1.3 lx

Octavia 2.0tdi Ambiente

Fabia 2.0 Elegance

Roomster 1.9tdi 3

Now have,

mk1 Octavia 1.9tdi Ambiente

mk2 Octavia 2,0tdi Sport DSG

Will get round to having a VRS at some point.

MKI Fabia vRS

MKII Fabia vRS (did think about a Monte but the vRS wasnt much more - so, why not?!)

As other posters have said, vRS owners are more likely to be enthusiasts, non-vRS owners are more likely to see their cars simply as a mode of transport. That's why I never bother putting non vRSes in the spotted section - though I would if I saw a modded non vRS.

It was the same when I posted on Club Lupo - GTi and Sport owners were disproportionately represented.

I started out on here with a Mk1 Fabia vRS, but now I just have an "ordinary" one :) I'd like to have a vRS again, but I probably can't afford it.
