The scum have struck again :(

Featured Replies

 Woke up this morning to find the kitchen window had been removed from the fame, car keys gone and what a surprise car has gone as well.

Would not have minded so much but I actually leave the keys completly out of sight. They had come in and had a good rumage.

The car was a silver octy vrs with just under 26000 miles on it. The reg was VX53 DXW (for what its worth). Be warned that if you are in the process of looking for a cheap vrs, just be carefull and examin the front bumber by the air intake for rough paint work.

B*st*rds had my duty free fags, and half a bottle of vodka that were in kitchen!

Just glad I took the gap insurance out.

 Sorry to hear it, I'll keep an eye out as will everyone on here I should think.....if only they could be caught ....i would love to help teach them the error of their ways

What you gona get when insurance pays up.

Sorry to hear what happened :(

Where abouts are you? I'll keep an eye out but I might be miles away from you!

Sorry to hear that Mark. :(

Wot area of the country would you like the biskoda squad to watch out for it?

Steve

W@nkers!!

I would post the information on Ebay - It's a fantastic advertising medium!! That way if it does come up then plenty of people will know the story.

Put the word around some of the other forums like Scoobynet and UK MKIV's.

What area are you in?

sorry to hear your bad news, makes me even more concerned having the Octy still and the the Boxster on the drive.

hope you get the insurance sorted ok,where abouts in the country are you?

It was taken from the Kings Heath area of Birmingham at my girlfriends house, although I live just outside of Stratford-upon-Avon.

Just had the poilce round and they think the car will turn up in a couple days burnt out or something. Heres hoping, cus I don't want the car back now. They reckon the car will be used for other crimes and that it was not taken for order.

Absoultly gutted, it's the only car I have ever had from new. Just have to try and sort all the insurance out now, which will be fun.

Cheers all for the support.

Mark

Mark

Another vRS ?

Hopefully it hasnt put you off :(

Steve

Mark, i shall look out for it on my travels around Brum, I live over the other side by the airport, but its unlikely it will be around the area now :(

Lets hope the insurance sorts it out quickly to enable you to get it replaced soon.

Hi

Been through that a few years ago - people in the house whilst we're asleep upstairs - perhaps best that we stayed asleep; so pleased to read that it was only the car / possessions. Nothing sensible to add really, except that if burglars find enough quickly, they'll be on their way fast.

I personally hate all these insurance clauses that insist that your keys etc have to be kept in your bedroom with all windows locked etc. I mean, give me a break - our safety is worth more than the insurance company's profits IMO and such clauses should be outlawed IMO.

Glad you and gf are safe. Hopefully insurance courtesy car meanwhile?

Regards

Mo

sorry to hear about that mate... out of curiousity, I had Black Horse on the phone trying to flog me that "Gap Insurance" - what is it exactly? (I told them to naff off before they could utter anything else to me... habbit)

Unfortunately as car security has got better the professional scum now start breaking into people's houses to get the keys. The Police recommend that you hide your keys every night so that they can't be found.

Good luck with the insurance company.

Sorry to hear what happened ....

I hope , you

As far as I am concerned if someone is willing to break into my house to get my keys then they really want my car. Hiding the keys aint gonna stop 'em, they'll just beat us up till we tell 'em where they are.

Used to be a big issue over at Scoobynet, people sleeping with them under the pillow and having a baseball bat next to them others just leave them on the dining room table.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. It might be worth posting details on http://www.twoc.co.uk

Sorry to hear your bad news mate.....Like you I hope I never see my Motor again if It ever gets nicked even if it's not damaged the thought of somone else driving your motor.....It will never be the same car

This is bad news, and it seems to be a more common problem now days. I hope you get a full payout and I know what you mean about not wanting it back, it will never feel the same again!

I normally keep my keys in my jacket pocket or in the bedroom.

My dad had his car key nicked many years ago this way, unluck for thick as **** TWOCer they could get the car started due to not know about the fuel cut off switch, though they did nick most of the stuff of it

Im looking at gap insurance policies just now. Interestingly they say they will not pay out if the robber has "access to the car keys". Not sure what they would do in a case like this - I wonder if they'll try to weasel out on the basis the scum was able to get hold of the keys.

Aslong as you kept the keys in your house(locked) and not on display I don't think the insurance company can have much of an arguement. Surely they cant expect anyone to sleep with the keys under a pillow....can they?

Good point.I think any Insurance company that attempted that line should be hung drawn and quartered and boycotted by the whole country. If someone has actually broken into your house that is appaling.Leaving the keys in the car is different  talk about salt in the wounds

Sorry to hear your bad news though and hope it all works out :)

Criminals really are the top of my low life hate list and should be priority on politicians lists. These criminals don't care what they do and it sucks

Had exactly the same happen to me 18 months ago with our vrs.

Police found the car after five weeks but by then we had a new one. One that was stolen at a similar time from up the road was found in Holland!!!

It makes you think about where you leave your keys.

Hope it gets sorted quickly.
