Daylight running lights. They may have been turned off!

under steering wheel is fuse box (behind long plastic trim) pop this off and you will see your fuses. You should also see a switch. This is the daylight running lights(DRL) switch. Turn this on and with the ignition on and lights off they should be on.

Hello all.😁

Reg Date: 2012

Colour: Red

Options: Bluetooth (I think!)

Mods: K&N 157s Induction Kit.

Eibach Springs Front & Rear

Rally Mud Flaps

Stage 2 Remap 132bhp 160nm Torque

Free flow Rear Exhaust box (to be fitted)

The remap gave me more power and better mpg. If I drive it tidy!🤔 The mud flaps stop that annoying streak of mud and grime that appears down the front doors. Very happy with the car so far😊

2011 Monte in red. Bog standard at the moment but planning on a roll back and remap, shark fin ariel, debadging the rear, Heko’s (done), then just making it nice and tidy with return wheels and a bit of lacquer peel to sort.

Here is my MC 2012. Great car and here in Croatia it is really hard to see more of them in MC edition.

MODS: full led, stagging, new engine maps - from 90HP to 138HP, new emblems.

Never put my car on the list.

2012 Monte Carlo 1.6 tdi 105hp.

Bought with 89,000 miles on the clock and is now sitting at just over 93,500 miles. Will have it a year come February first.

As far as I can make out it came with no options on it, no third headrest, grey seats etc.

Has been modified slightly, its got:

-vRS intake pipe

-Deflapped airbox

-Air filter sock removed

-Dieselgate flow transformer removed

-Heat reflective tape on airbox and intake pipe.

-De-Restricted turbo damper

-New backbox

-Whiteline Rear Sway Bar

-vRS grille striping

-Team Heko wind deflectors (not seen on car, older photo)

-Generic motor factor Mud Flaps.

Not really modified too much but its definately a nicer car to drive than standard. Sounds much nicer too, without being chavvy in the slightest.

I only really plan on remapping it but otherwise i'll just be renewing bushes and what not. It's been reliable in all my time owning it so I dont see a need to potentially mess that up.

20201003_181825.jpg

As Of December 2021:

-Darkside Developments downpipe

-UlterSport Backbox

-Supersport Coilovers (lowered only about 20mm)

-PSBushings Wishbone bushes

-Powerflex Dogbone mount

-312mm Front Brakes

-Remap to 140HP

-Rear Strut Brace

-Pair of Spotlamps Hidden behind the grille

-Currently on a set of 16" Spyders for Winter duty. Will be going back to the 17s with some fresh rubber for the summer.

Quite a few changes made over the year, most of them due to parts wearing out and so needing replaced anyways. The exhaust was rotten and I happened upon a smoking deal for a nice darkside downpipe and a backbox.

Had to get it mapped after that of course.

The brakes came about as I got a deal on them and was needing to replace the 288mm stuff anyway.

Then the shocks gave out so they needed replaced anyways, and again I got a deal on some coilovers that would work well so I would be daft not to.

Then I noticed the boot creaking like mad so I put in a brace and so on and so on.

I'll probably put a cr170 turbo on as well as a bigger intercooler funds allowing come summertime.

Edit As of August 2022:

-Poly ARB D Bushes (20mm)

-Rear Axle Swapped for a disc one

-New axle stripped and refreshed with polybushes

-256mm vented rears put on

-Intercooler fitted

-Boot sound deadened

-Superpro Steering Rack Bush

-Soon to have caster increase bushes and new Track rods.

What back box have you got for it and where from? Did just a back box make it sound better?

Just an exhaust I found on eBay. It said it was for a fabia and looks like a fabia piece but apparantly it was completely the wrong backbox. The tip was too long and needed some cutting and welding to fit. The tip sticks out slightly under the car now. To me it sounds a bit louder.

Unfortunately I recently lost someone and have inherited a Monte.

Red & black

Sept 2011

Pretty standard as far as I’m aware

Done & tried:- repaint wheels because they had awful scratches and scuffs. (Mum didn’t drive well 😢)

Considering:- Have brakes, shocks removed and either refurbed or replaced. (Everything really rusty under there😯)

Check if I can get cruise control fitted without paying the crazy price Skoda quoted.

Upgrade stereo and speakers.

Find better mats.

Find a boot tidy I like.

Find a 3 spoke steering wheel I like better

How do you find the 140 bhp remap?

Any issues with reliability, clutch, turbo etc?

What sort of mpg is it doing after remap?

Yeah it's been fine on my car, no issues stemming from it if that's what you mean. Clutch is fine at 120k+ miles, no slipping yet. Turbo and all that is OK too. I did have to replace an n75 valve but that was nothing to do with the map, mine just went a bit wonky. If you service it well and don't neglect it you'll not have any trouble.

Mpg improved after the map, and if you're trying to drive economically it's a lot easier to get more mpg out of it, if that makes sense.

Hi, is the de-flapped air box a DIY job or a new part purchase?
