Not a bad time at all for 130bhp...

I did a 16.30s (91.50mph) 1/4 in my Polo GTi (running 35bhp NOS)... But that was with a terrible terrible start and on a concrete runway (Bruntingthorpe), not a drag strip!

I really want to have a go in my Fabia... Maybe Bug Jam (if I can get my car past all the tents!)

I went to Elvington a short while ago and did the following, with all mods except the TT Vent which I doubt would make any difference...

0 - 60 (Secs) : 6.63

0 - 100 (Secs) : 17.08

60 - 100 (Secs) : 10.45

Quarter Mile (Secs) : 15.04

Terminal Speed (MPH) : 93.81

Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 14.84

Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 95.45

Pulled a 15.5 in a standard Mk2 Clio 172 which is book time, would love to try it in the fabia but drag strip plus 1.3 ton's of car and 230ftlb of torque = fooked clutch if not carefull.

16.16 is a very good time BTW

Try 323 lb/ft :D

thats a good time!! Going next week and hoping to get under 15 secs, got new tyres now and its re-mapped rather than supachipped. Also only gonna put half a tanks of optimax in instead of filling it up like i normally do!!! if i get that desperate i'll chuck out the baby seat as well!!

Pump up the back tyres and deflate the front :)

Bye Bye clutch

not going to try some of the 105 Ron rocket fuel they sell at pod?

As am I going next week. That is a good time indeed I think my was 16.79 with a few k's on the clock in stardard form.

Will be interested in seeing what it will do now. :D

Please tell me you beat the Saxo pictured....

Pump up the back tyres and deflate the front :)

But don't try to steer round any corners at speed...

Please tell me you beat the Saxo pictured....

It would depend on what saxo and what driver. A VTS should do it in about 15.79ish

Should have thought so, end of the day I know which car I'd rather have, that Fabia looks the business in Red, never really thought about buying a Red one.

It would depend on what saxo

if its a supercharged one then you'd be in trouble!

I though that you get paired with cars of similar performance at these events? I would love to have a go myself

no not at all, most people normally try to 'race' their mates.

thats a good time.... my best is 16.2 @ 97 mph... i always run it same set up as on the road never take any thing out..

nah in true saxo style the gearbox would have exploded! What I hear you say I have an issue with Citroen........no not at all.

Its not about who you race..just the time. (that's what you say when you lose!) . When you are queing up its always fun to see everyone trying to avoid the 'known' fast cars. I'm not really bothered who i'm up against (eg 911!) but do get downhearted when struggling to beat cars i think i should (golf gtdi)

Last time I was at the pod I "went up" against that powerfull Nova, it's in the mags and has been meantioned on here before. I was left for dead but the guy on the loud speaker said "wasn't he brave" lol

whats the point in ragging your car up a 1/4 mile at pod? Much better to take it round a track!

I have a few questions.

1. Is a front seat passenger allowed?

2. Can you choose what car you race or is it random?

3. Is it really worth taking the octavia down there with a standard clutch?

The chances of crashing or someone crashing into you are alot slimmer than opposed to driving on a track, where track day insurance must be arranged.

I managed a 14.7 nearing 100mph out of my auto Volvo T5 when i went last. I have to agree though, 1/4 mile's are a bit of a waste of time really, they put massive stress on the car, and is quite boring if you are running, as you end up sat in your car for the whole time hoping that your next run will be a touch quicker !?!? Strangely enough on the 3 occasions i ran my volvo, my first run was the fastest !?!?

But good effort gettin 16.?? that is amazing considering how many times you had to change gear - lol
