Skoda Fixed Servicing and Maintenance Prices

Good find, although it is worth noting that this is for Skoda's between the age of 3 and 10 years old.

Intersting too that my local dealer is offering the £249 variable service for £199!

£369 for a cambelt and water pump will annoy quite a few people as there have been a few who have paid £500+ :giggle:

I don't get why it's only for cars over 3 years old.

You could still need things like pads or even a cam belt if your do high miles within 3 years so why the restriction.

So are they saying they'd charge more if your car is under 3 years

It doesn't really bother me but seems like an odd restriction

I signed up in March with my local Skoda dealer for 2 services, a minor and a major ,including brake fluid change and 2 Mots all for £299. Good deal ?

This is second time I've got this deal for my 2010 Octavia. First one included £100 worth of accessories

Some of the items listed in the services in the Service section would not be correct for mileage/age, or included in a "proper" Skoda service. For example, spark plugs, diesel fuel filters and air filters are all listed in your service book as having service intervals longer than two years and I was quoted for a pollen filter change as a separate opperation on my first variable service.I suppose these are services for people who might also be comparing with Halfords, KwikFit or independants and, for example, expect new spark plugs every two years. As a consequence, Yes, they will charge you more for servicing if the car is under 3 years old!

BMW charge less for cars over 4 years old. I wonder if others do as well.....

Audi charge considerably less for cars older than 3 years, and offer the same national pricing for these cars.

One reason for the cheaper prices is to keep the car in the dealer network and make more money for the dealer and the manufacturer, as we all know once the car gets to three years old we all tend to avoid main dealers to keep prices down.

I was just quotes 408.83 for Cambelt alone from skoda Aberdeen. I won't be going there for any work as they also quotes 315 for a major service. Shocking price variations. In fact I'll challenge them on this tomorrow.

Just had a leaflet through the door from the local Seat garage about the wifes Ibiza. Same deals. Seat are doing wheel refurbs for £59 a wheel and aircon for £69. Looks like a VAG wide offer.

Hi

Gregie, Definitely challenge them. I'm booked in to John Clark Skoda Aberdeen. I confirmed that they do the fixed price service and cambelt as per Skoda prices..

Initially they were not to happy - had to check with Service Manager. Advisor on phone did want to charge me more until I queried it.

I guess all dealers will go the extra mile to take what they can........

Been holding off booking the cambelt and water pump change to find a good offer - and here it is. Nice one Fin69 :)

It says no other offers can be used at the same time so does this mean I can't use the £100 vouchers I've got when I signed up to the 2 year fixed servicing deal to further reduce the cost? Ta

Aye, unfortunately you probably won't be allowed to use the vouchers. Worth a go though.

Local indy garage £320 for belt & pump, is it worth the extra £50 & have it done at a dealer? Thoughts please guys

I reckon you'll have more comeback if you have any issues after the cambelt change with Skoda than a local indy. There was a recent thread about someone who negotiated a cambelt change on a used vRS before buying it. He didn't even get to the end of the road before it packed up. The indy gave him some serious flack afterwards.

You should also know that the pulleys have been locked properly, the rollers and tensioners replaced and genuine parts used.

You'll also get a Skoda stamp in the book which may have some value if you plan to sell the car on and already have full main dealer history...

Well I did indeed call them back today and after calling few other garages to compare prices with and told them I see their website advertises the offer for 369 all in. The advisor Jackie very nice woman went to find out more info and said she would call back which she did half hour later saying that they will warrant that price. So it booked in 25/6/12 pay day lol for the change. I compared with other Indy specialist in the area and was even quoted 517 from one place and 488 from another. Skoda are by far the cheapest in Aberdeen that I could find. Next mission is a service in September for 249 not the 315 they quotes me lol

Just checked around the east mids area and Leicester quoted £299 for cam belt or £369 for cam belt and water pump, Lincoln quoted £374 for cam belt + water pump and Derby wanted £580 ish.

I took the service deal (£299) last year so i'm booked in later this month at Leicester for the cam belt/water pump and full service. I'm just glad I waited for the cam belt change as I was going to book it in before the latest price. ??

I too have the £299 service deal. My second and last service will be the cambelt service.

I'm assuming the service deal will cover the service and I will then have to pay the £299 for the cambelt or will they be able to spread some of the labour charges over the two to make it slightly cheaper?
