Oh Bugger, that bloody sware filter doesn't work on those words.

Recently you couldn't say 'situation' as that was strangely filtered. It's obviously been fixed now.

You still can't say that place in Linconshire near the Humber bridge, S****horpe!

Bloody is a bit of an old skool swear word so i didn't think it necessary to include when i setup the filtered word list. Does it offend anyone other than pensioners?

Ok, perhaps you can explain to a software engineer how it is that you can test for the 4 character string "****" and not for the 6 character one "%20c*nt%20", thus removing the "Scun-thorpe" problem?

Unless some one can tell us to do this?

Yes. Turn the swear filter off. You hear worse coming from the mouths of 8 years olds these days.

Bad Word Filters

Word filters are an effective way to automatically moderate the members of your community. For example to prevent swearing and bad language.

To setup Bad Word Filters, visit the Look & Feel tab of your ACP, and select Bad Word Filters under Post Content.

When adding a new filter, there are 3 settings for each word. "Before" and "After" are the word to filter, and the replacement, respectively.<br />

The next dropdown, titled "Method" has two options - Exact and Loose. Exact filtering requires an exact match for a word to be censored. Loose filtering will filter that block of text, regardless if there are other characters before or after it. For example, if you created a loose filter for "hell" users would also be censored for saying "hello", so be careful as you might find genuine words have potentially bad words within them.

Might be of some use.
