Brakes

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Driving back from home on the dual carriage way, doing about 55mph pulled up to a roundabout pressed the brakes and nothing. Pedal was very soft, no bite at all from the pads.

Did a servo check by pumping the brake pedal with the car off and it dropped about 2.5".

What could it be.... Starting to think I've bought a lemon

Regards

Anand

To check the servo:

  • turn off engine
  • pump the brake pedal several times then stop
  • press gently down on brake pedal
  • start engine
  • if pedal gives way= servo OK
  • if not then vacuum system or servo is suspect.

Hope this helps.

Hi Steve,

Did that, it did give so the servos ok.

What else could it be? Air in the system?

Do the brakes improve when the pedal is pumped?

Haven't been for a drive yet. I'll post back later when I do.

Thanks
