VCDS near Telford, Shropshire

Featured Replies

Hi, I really want to get moving on upgrading the firmware on my 2009 columbus so that I can get 7-digit postcodes and speed cameras. However, I cannot access the version number I currently have - there is no Set-Up screen even after 30secs++++ - so I don't know what firmware to upgrade to and what the possible consequences are.

I've bounced around various forums and topics, each of which seems to give advice which is either conflicting or incomprehensible to a non-techie like me. To save all the faff and guessing, I just want to place it in the hands of a friendly VCDS-owning Briskodian within travelling distance (up to 50 miles) of Telford, Shropshire.

If there is anyone out there with the tools, wisdom and expertise, please PM me and tell me what you would charge to:

· Enable hidden menus

· Establish Sat Nav Software and Firmware versions - (this is the KEY one)

· Re-calibrate Trip Computer (currently over-reading by variable amounts)

· Re-set to Variable Servicing (currently on fixed)

Thanks, guys.

I can do most of those and will be in Craven Arms on September 23rd.

A while off I know, but otherwise I'm just outside Bromyard if that's any good to you (50.7 miles to Telford town centre accordingly to Google).

Hi, thanks for getting back so quickly! I don't really want to wait until 23/9, so what would you charge me if I came out to you in Bromyard?

Kind regards,

Ned.
