Christ mate. I bet your a riot at party's. I'm closer to 40 than 30 and don't appreciate being referred to as a kid, simply because I'm looking forward to getting my Blackline. In my opinion, kids d

Jealous! Enjoy fellas. See if the dealer will sort the Bluetooth out ;)

Having compared the blackline against my old FL VRs it would appear that the rear 1/4 panel plastic sticker is not there and the small front mudflaps are missing, are others the same?

Encouraging news about Bluetooth!!

For those like me who live in the South and their car is still sat in Emden there is a ship (called Autopride) due in around 4am on the 7th to Sheerness.

Fingers crossed it has some Blacklines on it :whew:

Well I have collected my white Blackline and its awesome. The dealer gave me some cash for the BT issue (promised it has BT) as they are not allowed to change the navigation settings (sent them the link below). i can confirm that if you follow the link with VCDS the bluetooth function is enabled and integrates with the maxidot. All i need to do now is purchase the microphone and we are laughing. Works perfect phone and media streaming.:rofl:

What is VCDS? Can I do this myself? Good work on finding out.

it is basically a COM port cable that you plug into the car and the other end goes into a laptop where (using software) you can configure pretty much every setting on your car from unlocking features to turbo timings etc. for remapping purposes....

it will set you back £250 or so but unless you know what you are doing i would recommend taking it to a specialist. Try an Audi group specialist garage that work on VW's Skodas and Seats as well (most do) not only should they have the kit and knowledge but would be cheaper than a main stealer.

I did the same thing with my Golf it is just called vag com instead of VCDS......

Did you find out if these are missing or are they all like that?

here are some photos of my blue VRS blackline:

Got my black blackline today, first in Northern Ireland, it is beezer!!!!

Blue nicer than I thought. Good old seafield road. Boughtt loads of cars from various places along that road.

I hope the above pictures are accessible for people. My impressions of the car (following a 220 mile drive back - don'k ask why I ordered from Edinburgh! - at least I got to enjoy it longer!):

The drive is so smooth, the DSG box is very pleasant. In D mode the car drives comfortably and still responds well to increased acceleration, whilst choosing the best gear for improved fuel consumption. In S mode the car really shifts (esp for a turbo diesal), and the note from the exhaust suprised me - its sounds beautiful. The car is spacious and feels many notches above my old 58 reg vectra. There are no rattles, the leather is soft comfortable. It smells great!!. The steering wheel is probably they best I have used in any car I have driven, it is comfortable and feels like silk feeding it through the hands. The car feedback on from road is precise and handling direct, thanks to the stiffer suspension. The road noise was good, I thought it would be louder.

The look of the car impressed me both externally and internally. I was taken aback at how well the wheels go with the blue in the flesh. it looks agressive and certainly turns heads. The blue in the VRS is simply amazing, I chose well, the metallic paint is very good. The red calipers stand out well against the black wheels too.

Inside the Amundsen + sat nav unit is a breeze to use and the SD card reader is very quick (I had read this was slow on other units such as the Bolero).

It felt strange at first driving an automatic, my left leg did attempt to put the clutch in once, after almost being catapulted through the windscreen, that will not happen again! The whole car feels of class and quality esp with the extras thrown in on the black line. My friend who came with me on the journey, had never driven a Skoda before, he could not believe how good the car was, it was the best car he had driven. I have to say (having never owned a Skoda before) that is simply the best car I have owned by some distance, it has exceeded my expecations. The DSG box is fabulous, I would not consider going back to manual now. I haven't yet tried the paddles to any length (had a quick go).

All in all, very impressed, those of you who have ordered will not be dissapointed.

BTW I did not see a single Octavia VRS on my 440 mile round trip! Its a pleasure to own a not so common vehicle!

Just driven her home. Kept at 3000 rpm for now. Even with that waved Cheerio to some Audi in my mirror. Happy happy

Blue and black wheels works very well - enjoy your new car.

Can I ask - why did you buy your car from a dealer 250 miles away?

Cheers.

truthfully, probably because of my inpatient impulsive nature. I was sick of the recent car issues with my Vectra and had been looking into the car lease scheme available at the Hospital I work at. Noticed the blackline on there, yet the emailed to say they couldn't secure any (due to the limited edition run). So I searched google and Arnold Clarke came up first. I enquired about it to them, a bit of too'ing an thro'ing and I made deal within about 2 days (without test driving it). Nearest Skoda Arnold Clark is that one to me. I knew it would be a massive improvement on the Vectra so just went for it.

My servicing will be done locally though! plus the drive back was very good - some country roads and plenty of motorway - so its been bedded in nicely.

I want to get the Bluetooth added - I've read on here the module may be included (but de-activated) and a MIC and activation through VCDS is all thats required. Is this definate? Anywhere local to me where I can get this done?

BTW the MFSW with DSG is very good. The sound from the stereo is very good too!

Booble thanks for the write up... making me all the more excited. Glad you're pleased with it. How comfortable was it generally for a long drive?

The bluetooth module apparently is present, just needs activating via VCDS. The mic will need to be bought though and wired but shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Thanks Sihaworth!

I found it very comfortable - this was a concern for me, the one major benefit of the Vectra is the comfort on long journeys. I was really suprised at how comfortable the seats are in the VRS. The leather is soft and suptle, the driving position was very comfortable and I suffered no aches and pains on my journey. I'm 14.5 stone, so I'm not exactly a little 'un.

I will hold off the bluetooth for now and follow the consenscus here (once the rest of you have yours). If its a simple job (as it sounds) maybe a friendly Broskodian would be up for helping us "technically challenged" for payment! :giggle:

btw - I saw the black VRS blackline yesterday too. Those of you who have ordered these will be very happy! I was suprised how good it looked.
