Has anyone been given a delivery date for the Blackline Octavia VRS?

Featured Replies

It's a standard DAB (& DTV) issue. For it to work, the signal must all get there - not like analogue (FM etc) where the tuner would switch to MONO when the going gets tough.

If you lose the signal in certain areas, then, at least until the GOV'T gets greedy again, you can switch to FM or AM - just store them in the vacant spaces to make it easier.

Christ mate. I bet your a riot at party's. I'm closer to 40 than 30 and don't appreciate being referred to as a kid, simply because I'm looking forward to getting my Blackline. In my opinion, kids d

Not had that but I've had planty of other faults. Its going back to the garage for a new amundsen headunit because it keeps on freezing when I try and listen to the radio. It only does it with one key and not the other :wonder: It has spent 9 days in the garage for a temp sensor that was burried deep in the dash so the dash had to come completly out and now its back in it rattles and squeeks like nothing on earth, has had a new steering control module, new sat nav ariel, another 6 days in the garage for a new climate control control panel under the satnav and for some repairs to be carried out to it when the garage damaged it during the previous visit, the alarm will randomly go off for no reason (not done this for a couple of months so hopefully it has fixed itself). It has now started stalling randomly when bringing the clutch to the bite point and putting a little load on the engine. I'm going to have a search on the forum and if I can't find anything then I'll start a new topic.

That doesn't feel me with too much confidence. Maybe I should have kept my mk5 gti.

I've probably just got a Fridy afternoon/Monday morning car so don't be put off. All manufactures have them but you know its bad when you walk in to the showroom to the service desk and the girls know you so well the frist thing they say is 'whats wrong with it now' :giggle: and one of them has almost remembered the registration number.

Mines is ok so far, although traded in already for a focus st in sept

Have also had some random alarm activations as well....

Not had a single problem with mine since I picked it up last October (apart from the odd hyperventalation episode when SWMBO threatens she may want to drive it- I did say she could, just not WHEN :giggle: ). As with all cars there will be problems, whether I'm just fortunate or the others unlucky is the question I guess. there were circa 500 Blacklines made, not sure how many are active on this site but as always those with problems tend to be more vocal (I would be too) than those without any issues.

I have had the rear wiper done but that issue is not Blackline specific.

Whole buying experience has been painless, enjoyable but wallet lightening!

I have not experienced the following from Skoda so far - which I have done from previous VW dealer encounters:

  • a refusal to allow a test drive
  • an arrogant, snobby attitude
  • sales rep in car while getting test drive
  • a new car being handed over which did not include accessories which were part of the order
  • a clear explanation on how I could pay for the car
  • pushy sales
  • PDI not being done properly
  • alloy wheels not having locking wheel nuts - dealer blamed VW factory
  • poor trade in values with lots of put-downs so the customer accepts the lower price
  • directing me to a car that they wanted to sell
  • not listening to the customer nor sticking to their pledges eg to match local servicing quotes
  • being told that I must collect the car on a certain day/time or else!
I am fed up with VWs poor service and lack of value for money (they now charge hundreds of pounds for white on new cars, unbelievable). I hope that this Skoda delivers.

Cheers.

go to wings in Peterborough then!

they do get dirty easy but come up nice with a wash, mines gleaming again today.

Apparently Skoda valeted my car before I picked it up on Tuesday, not quite sure how they do a valet but my idea of a valet is different to theirs.. it had bird crap on the window and muck splattered up the doors and gungy stuff on the drivers sill! I can see why they didn't clean the inside of the wheels though, when I did the rear wheels I shredded my knuckles twice on the disc backing plate http://www.briskoda.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif . gonna have to invest in something to clean those wheels with..

when I picked mine up a few weeks back, it looked like my dog had valeted the car.

not had this on my bl, but had the same light come on my 1.4tsi when that was only a couple of months old. Some interface problem somewhere that the dealer fixed by getting a new thingybob part they had to reprogram something too and they had it in for 24 hrs. No problems after that though. Get it booked in if you haven't do so already. HTH

those of you with the BL, how you finding your DAB radio?

i use it everyday and recently ive noticed when im driving it lose its receipt then comes back on, i think this is normal going from different DAB radio towers?

the other issue twice now, the dab radio loses reception and wont come back on, get the little radio tower crossed out logo,

have to turn off car and back on again to get it working

what you reckon?

Had this happen once the other week. Thought my antenna might be borked but used the car an hour later or so and was fine and has been since.

Cars 6 months old, otherwise not given me any real bother

other than the ABS sensor issue I had on teh day of collection, I've had mine for 6 months and no problems.

Took my blackline back for the second time already. Only had it 2 weeks. Fixed the airbag error and replaced a reflector on the right rear. Asked them to change my keyfob so I only have to press it once. They couldn't do it for some reason. They're waiting for a reply from Skoda. Anyone else had this changed from 2 presses to 1?

Also, has anyone added mudflaps to there car?

To just change the central locking setting press on the maxi dot. To get there press and hold the trip buttons untill sub menu appears then go to settings and its in there to change all car settings.

Can anyone recommend a decent boot liner apart from the over expensive OEM one?

Also which mud flaps are you guys fitting?

I have rounded mudflaps, rears are easy to get in the UK however the fronts will have to come from Europe.

Any pics of the mud flaps?

How much are they?

And there was me thinking that I had been lumbered with the last car off the production line on the Friday afternoon before their summer holidays!  :giggle:

My initial foray into the world of Blackline ownership wasn't great - it was only on the road (or my driveway) for 2 out of the first 9 weeks before the dealer finally sorted out the excellent security system that refused to let me into the damned thing in a morning. Thankfully both Skoda UK & the dealer came good in the end and offered me a most satisfactory compensation/goodwill package.

It's been in once since for a problem with the heater which seems to have been sorted with a reprogramme of the climatronic system (otherwise it would be a dash out job) and the spare wheel had to be replaced for one that would actually fit over the front brakes!

Touch wood, apart from the Amundsen unit resetting itself on the way back from Goodwood last month it's all been fine since.

I have a similar issue - I even bought her a new car just so I could have mine back but she manages to find any excuse possible to use the BL - usually when I'm still at work so I don't even know about it until I arrive home to find the car has moved - again!

Post 2000!!! Come on lol

Well on my holidays in Speyside at the moment - car is a great cruiser very comfortable and the grunt is there if needed on the very quiet A roads.

Economy is doing very well with family of five, big dog and associated luggage.

Am seeing a lot of mark ii Octavia estates and a fair few mark iii hatchbacks - these highland folk must be very canny!

Interestingly, car went through a regen after parking up following a 150 mile run - should it not be clever enough to carry out a regen on a long fast run rather than wait for the engine to be switched off? Seems odd.

But chuffed with the blackline and has done everything asked of it so far.

Blackline was a good deal I couldn't pass up. Really like the diesel (first timer) and the 50pc extra economy. My annual mileage is low 6000 pa but a low number of decent mileage runs so no probs with DPF. If I need to go somewhere less than 5 miles will either walk or cycle.

While the initial pickup acceleration of the diesel isn't sharp the mid range grunt is there which when fully loaded gets the car going. In some ways I think the petrol vrs might be too aggressive for family duties!

Cheers.
