Has anyone been given a delivery date for the Blackline Octavia VRS?

Featured Replies

Know the feeling...I'm using AG wheel cleaner and AG Alloy wheel seal at the mo but it doesn't seem to last long so I'm going to try some poorboys black magic polish to hide the small scratches and then 2 coats of angelwax bilberry wheel wax when it gets a bit warmer to see if it makes them easier to keep clean... fingers crossed ;)

Christ mate. I bet your a riot at party's. I'm closer to 40 than 30 and don't appreciate being referred to as a kid, simply because I'm looking forward to getting my Blackline. In my opinion, kids d

i can't even be bothered to try.

I wouldnt use ag wheel cleaner as its acidic and over time will peel your paint and itll flake off.

Went into dealers this morning with the Blackline and car came back a little less exclusive. Some members might remember that my Blackline came with a European spec model wing mirror controller - hard to explain but have a look back at a previous post I made in this thread. My UK spec car now has a UK spec wing mirror controller. 30min job done as soon as I arrived. Cant ask any more than that, so thanks to Newmarket Garage, Bannockburn.

Q- When turning the wing mirror controller to the heating positing it doesnt rest neatly in line with the heating symbol, not concerned about this, but are other members cars like this?

I also didnt receive a bottle of engine oil when I picked up the car back in January. But this was politely handed over today, no hassles and no questions asked.

Q- Car is on annual service regime and I have been given long life 5W30 oil. Is this the right stuff for a diesel engine on annual servicing? My previous experience of long life servicing etc meant that the engine oil was different from those on annual services?

Have nearly done 1,000 miles in my car now and cannot fault it in any way. Maxidot tells me that I get an average 48mpg quite easily and that is not driving like a granny. The Blackline has given me great value for money and am glad I bought it.

Saw the new Octavia in the showroom and attach a picture. The new lines of the model look a bit sharper. Couldnt get in it because car was locked but looked tidy inside and out. I am concerned about the overall pricing however. If in 4 years time they have VAT off/free servicing etc then it could be likely I stick with the Skoda brand. If they offer marginal discounts then I would cast the net a bit wider and look at other manufacturers.

This far I am a happy Skoda owner.

As your car has a DPF it requires the long life oil regardless of service regime

mine's the same. it feels disconcertingly "loose" when in the heater position

Didnt know there was a heater position on the controller! Symbol is there.

Thought it auto turned on when you put the rear demister on?

Only if the switch is in the heater position. Mine is always left facing that symbol if I'm honest.

Why you would even let Newmarket touch your car is beyond me!!

I have a gearbox oil leak because of these b****rds!! Utter amateurs is what i would describe them... and the head mechanic guy sure his name is Alan older dude doesn't half love a wee drink, last time i was in he stunk of booze!, not a good sign for customers.

Completely understand how you can lose confidence in a dealer Grizzle if you have a bad experience.

I've not experienced this so far from Newmarket in sales or service. They have done what they said they would (as I expect from a customer service point of view). I would rate them quite highly compared to previous VW dealer experiences where I was made to feel that I was doing the dealer a favour giving them my hard earned.

had a very bad day yesterday, scraped the side of my pride and joy down the side of the house, absolutely gutted and bracing myself for a quote from the Hayseldens! I'm usually very careful what with our tight driveway but was trying to give a little more room for the kids to get in without boshing the doors.. **** happens I guess and just have to get it sorted and then move on and forget about it!

Ouch! I feel for you marko, hope it doesn't cost too much to fix.

I'm more concerned about the end result rather than cost, I'm paranoid it won't be a 100% invisible job..

Mark.

I had a candy White polo that needed a new door in the early 90's due to some s**mbag breaking in to nick the stereo and I wasn't happy with the colour match. The paint shop blamed it on White being the hardest colour to match! But then it was a paint shop I had to use because of the insurance company ( direct line ) and paint technology has moved on dramatically since then and we got an absolute perfect match on the wife's mini and abarth ( both White ).

White has alway been a pain to match, I'm very fussy about this,iv had lots of white cars mostly jap sports cars and getting anything done was a nightmare, pearl white is even worse.

Back on my 2011 Octy they said silver was hard to match, if they dont get it right they can do it again ! Though i think you wont notice on the wheel arch once its done VW paint should match perfectly.

I don't think colour match will be an issue, it's the actual arch that is slightly pushed in that I'm worried about, getting the perfect line back on the arch! it needs a stone chip guard as that is scratched too! they better not paint over that or there will be trouble.. I'm back at work tomorrow and going to try and book 1/2 day holiday to take it in for a quote. I'm more embarrassed than anything, people don't expect me to bump my cars!

daft question, but the amudsen+ doesn't show the Date does it?

only time?

It seems no-one can FIG-ure it out

(no is the answer, btw ;) )

Hello, I'm new to this community but I picked up my VRS Blackline, in Racing Blue with DSG, last week. Its on a 13 plate and had 7 miles on the clock, I am the first registered owner. According to the dealer (Farmers Leicester, see my review) it was the last brand new one in the country? I literally took that statement with a pinch of salt.

Anyway, lovely car, really enjoyed the 150 mile trip back home. Although I was armed with six cd's, I sadly couldn't get the legendary Skoda 6 disc multichanger to work!!

Trying to find someone who can fit the microphone and code the VCDS, any suggestions for East London?

It is only single disc. Use the SD card and you will have more than 6 CD's capability.

Well pouring down with rain today so ideal time to wash the car!

I might be a bit stupid here, but how do you lift up the front wipers to clean the windscreen??? With the bonnet in the closed position you cannot raise the wiper arms. Seems a bit daft to me or am I missing something? :wonder:

Ignition off but leave key in and push wiper stalk down (as if for one swipe)

Yep. Do the same. :)
