I get a lot of people asking about the r32 skirts on the car so I thought I would try and demonstrate how much work there actually is in them.

Out of the packet

DSC06844.jpg

Cut the ends off, then take 6 inches out of the length, and plastic weld the ends back on

DSC06843.jpg

DSC06842.jpg

Take the strength out of the curve, as this needs to be at a tighter angle to match the curve of the car

The fibreglass them to get the strength back into them

Then some plastic rubberised filler

The hardest part is trying to wrestle them onto the car, then front end was left, so it could be screwed into the OEM fastening and the rest required a lot of silicone and clamps.

In all, around 20 hours per side plus a lot of swearing.

Gave the calipers a fresh coat, to match with the center caps and a few other items!

Also, I have a new sump as I have a tiny crack In the other which is liquid metalled up. So that's 1 job for this weekend, A new flexi for the compressor as the old one is leaking, and the bbs valves for the rs's (which don't fit!) so I have ordered some 6mm ones as these are 8mm and are way too big.

Me and a mate stripped the seats tonight so the depth of the can be chopped out of the metal base and foam so they sit better in the fabia. The spot welds on the brackets drilled out, spun round, and welded back on. All I need to do now is, test fit them to see if they catch anywhere, if not, weld new metal in and reattach the leather and foam.

Cheers mate, the weren't too bad in all honesty, there are a lot better ones out there but for budget coilers they were fine.

So, I finally got around to test fitting the wheels, and because I did my sums correctly I have the exact fitment I want without spacers.

I'll let the pictures do the talking.

As stated previously, everything has come back from the trimmers.

So, Everything is back from the trimmers which means the engine bay is now done.

E69BF31E-14F3-4792-AE94-69BB6BAAC2E7.jpg

Also, the car was running like a dead dog, So after a bit of investigation its turns out the TPS was faulty, so Im going to collect a new one tonight and few bits of trim.

Then off to paint.

I have gone for a colour change this year on the interior, i sourced some better spec alfa seats, with chrome headrest runners and folding.

I then removed one of the headrests and sent it away with the rest of the interior, they then dyed the rest of the dooryards/dash and other parts to match.

Its all coming together now.

That looks awesome. Can't wait to see them all fitted

Lovely colour on the leather. I've always wanted red leather with having a white car

Thanks ant, it's quite a dark red, trying to keep it classy as a posed to 'dubbed'

It's coming together very well indeed. I love the colour of the interior, lifts the otherwise gloomy Fabia up no end.

Wise choice on the new wheels as well!

Thanks buddy

Any close ups of the side skirts, especially how they fit round the rear arch area? They look dead subtle in the photos

Been having some major running issues lately, when ever I pulled the car forwards it stalled, it was misfiring and spluttering its bag off.

So, my daily which is another skoda fabia but a pd100, I swapped over the accelerator pedal as I thought the tps was at fault, it turns out it was the tps but also the crank sensor. So both have now been replaced and I have gather the few last bits of trim I needed

New pedal, just had to swap the pedal cover over

Car passed its MOT today, seats are being welded up too! Then paint on Monday.

All is going good

So Monday came and I crashed the skoda.

100% my fault, first crash ever, traffic stopped and I didn't.

The legs are straight which is the most important thing so it can be saved!

So here starts the rebuild,
