The trimmers swapped over the leather for me, but in regards to the drilling, quite a scary amount, just keep doing a bit at a time, you can push it quite far in all honesty!

Cheers. I started thinking i might get someone to retrim mine as my original is nearly 12 years old now but the new one is too small around the base.

I'll keep at it with the drill then.

Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Sounds like a good idea, I have just posted some finished pics up, only a few more things to do now, longer wheel bolts and a cv boot

Just a few things done to satisfy my OCD. Changed the bonnet bolts out for new ones as the heads were a bit crap

So with the drive to MIVW looming, I had some general maintenance work done on the fabia, Which consisted of, 2 new tracks rods and inner rack ends, also inner and outer passenger side CV boots, and drivers side ABS Sensor, which had worn through in 4 different places, as you can see.

Also me and my trusty mechanic managed to get the car bled up properly now too so I took if out for a few test drives, I discovered that my turbo is really smokey on boost (blue smoke) which is the turbo oil seals.

So I have sourced another standard one to get me through to winter where I will do a proper job of it.

Also on the test drive it popped a boost hose, which, from what I can see was my fault, as none of the lugs are worn.

So I fitted a different standard turbo on friday

5250574C-7300-4DDE-9FFB-EF0A4D1B2BAF.jpg

The newer turbo had a lot less end float and play, It still smokes but not blue smoke so thats that problem solved, the smokiness is down to a boost leak, And it whistles on boost, which could be down to a broken gasket as i have had the turbo off twice and never replaced them or a big boost leak.

So a gasket kit has been ordered and fitted tonight! Either way, it will still be going to MIVW, Anyway, a few photos from fitted which was decent!

I couldn't undo my car as I left my keys for it at home haha Needless to say I was shocked at how moronic I can be at times.

Looks very nice mate.

Thanks mate!

So I got my new gaskets last night

8B78E53C-E636-4D19-BAB7-C3ADB9FEBAB8.jpg

Started to rip the car apart for what I thought was a turbo off job, it turns out after a quick look the the EGR gasket has **** itself and had died out of the side, the engine bay was black! The intake was covered in soot, proper mess.

02389363-D4F0-418F-915C-88FF42517774.jpg

Then whilst removing the 2 bolts off the erg pipe the heat had pretty much welded the nuts to the studs and it removed the studs, one which I wound back in with loctite which set and i managed to crack the nut off but the other would not go! So this happened, such a crap job

Manged to get the studs back in eventually and a new EGR gasket is on order for today, then we set off for MIVW at 2:30 tomorrow morning.

Rob larby sent me over some nice shots he had managed to get of the fabia too, which distracted me from my woes for a while.

Decent photos!!

Shame I missed you at the show but did have a good nose around and it's honestly a really mint fabia! Photos aren't deceiving, it really is that clean in person :) Unlike some others I've seen recently.

Just a bit of an update really,

I have found a Fabia on eBay, It is really well speced up. It has, xenon's, factory sat nav, maxi-dot clocks, and it runs 220 bhp.

So, Im going to look at it this weekend, and may end up buying it ha The plan is basically, strip anything I want off it and put the other parts back on it from my fabia and sell it again,

It will still be mint too because the items from my other fabia are in really good condition anyway
